One thing you can do is tie rubber mat or sheet in leg guard and make a square cutout for air flow to engine. Same goes for underneath the engine and gearbox area. This mods may look ugly but rest assured they protect engine bay from mud and grime.

Use a 60w headlight, and mud can't do anything about that

get some free time and contact me, will help you out with stickering and don't go for painting, you can glamorize your bike with just stickers like how I had done it and will get you some plans for the mud splashing as well, but cannot guarantee it will work 100%. . .

I will give it a go but not sure how to put rubbermat below engine and gearbox. Will installing a rubber mat below the front wheel cover help??

Will 60w headlight run with stock battery? Wont it drain stock battery fast? Any step by step guide how i can do that? Will it void warranty?

It would be hard to fix a mudflap under front wheel mudguard. Take a card board or plastic sheet piece and by using wires or plastic strings tie it to base of the chassis of bike underneath gearbox. It is more of a jugaad . So just try if you are unable to do let me know i will post pics of my bike's same jugaad.

Just putting in a 60w halogen isn’t going to help matters much, in fact it would likely be dimmer at lower revs than the 35w halogen and load on the engine will increase. One possible solution is to convert the bike to DC setup and then either use a 60w halogen or a 35w 4500k HID.

If not, then coil rewinding would need to be done.

Also if you fit a 60w halogen, reflector will fade faster than it would with a 35w halogen.

Alternatively, you can try and look for slightly brighter 35w halogens (tough to find).

Oh yes, as with any mod, there are chances things can and will go wrong, so be ready for that.

                    1. What can i do for avoid mud spilling the body of the bike and below the suspension during rainy season
                    2. Where in kolkata can i glamourize my unicorn
                    3. At what speeds do i need to change gears as my bike is going to be due for second service

                    please advise.
                    I like to shift 2nd @10kmph, 3rd @20kmph, 4th @30kmph, 5th @40 or 45kmph.
Basically it is varies based on driving style and mood.

Previously I had hero honda splendor.

This one is good but problem is, 4th gear is not that long and have to switch to 5th at speed of 40 kmph max due to its setting of rpm and gears.

Splendor had 4 gears but never felt need of 5th one, and could do 30 to 60 easily in 4th gear.
In unicorn I have to frequently shift between 4th and 5th in city, also pulling power of 4th gear is not as great as splendor. E.g. Uni struggles to pull at speed of 20 in 4th gear and requires down shift.

If uni could do at least 50kmph speed in 4th gear smoothly, that would so great.

Is this normal for all Uni ?
Hi bro...uni can definitely go beyond 50kph in 4th gear..things will change after your running in gets complete ..wait till first service..and one more thing..in unicorn the factory gear setup is like getting
same torque on shift up for some initial seconds..and when you twist throttle lever further..it will change..this is unicorn's setup for smooth upshift..but if you quickly downshift to 4 from 5 you will notice the engine roaring for an upshift..wait patiently till first service..be happy...comparing to splendour ,unicorn is not a ride that will disappoint you..guarenteed

If price is no bar then get motul 300v factory line, its about 900-1000rs per liter.

                            hello,
Thanks for suggestion. But I checked it is fully synthetic oil. and I heard that mineral oil is recommended for new bikes.

U can use synthetic after 2000km, if ur bike is lesser than that then use motul 3000+ mineral oil.

Even though price is no bar, don't waste money on expensive oil like 300V. This engine don't required Synthetic oil at all. After long research finally I am satisfied with Veedol super swift 10W40 SS oil. It is very good oil for unicorn engine. Try once you will love it. If you have difficulty in finding this the second choice is Shell AX7 10W40.
