there is no mud guard , it is there in it's minimal form. to prevent scrapping in large path holes i made the slit inside the mud guard there.

all i had to do was to adjust my own weight balance while cornering that's it.. it solved the problem. i also did height mod this shifted the weight to more on front tyre.better balance i felt.

regarding acceleration it is not affected ,since overall dia of the tyre is same as 3.00-18" tyre top speed is also not affected at all ,
overall happy experience with added looks.
avg sways between 35-45 kmpl city.

Nice to know that you regained the cornering confident. But just my thought, did it hampered the mileage? My uni returns me 50+ in city and in max traffic (that too on Park Street - Kolkata - Known to be the worst) in office time.
      Have a safe ride

The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

The Honda Unicorn is a motorcycle, developed by Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) and presented during 2005, the first motorcycle in India to feature a mono-suspension. The whole bike was built from scratch and was designed by the R&D team of Honda based in Osaka, Japan. The design of the bike was done keeping in mind Indian road conditions. Many new features were incorporated, such as two-way air jacket, a diamond frame, an engine producing a torque of 12.8 Nm at a relatively low 5500 RPM for good fuel economy. The first version of the bike featured spoke wheels and only kick starter. The bike is renowned for its smooth engine and a perfect gearbox. The quality of the bike is also well praised.
The second version featured a self starter and graphics on the body. Honda released this version to compete with the Bajaj Pulsar and the TVS Apache. Changes included alloy wheels, powder coated engine with a buffed head and new graphics, clear lens indicator lamps, a trip meter, and a slightly smaller rear grab rail. A limited Moto GP edition had the guise of a Repsol Honda RC211V
            • Also the new Unicorn comes with a new stylish meter console.
            • A new gear shift lever which is designed specifically to place the control on your toes is the major change in the new Unicorn.
            • 3Dimensional Honda wing mark on the fuel tank for royal and sophisticated look

            • Hi Friends,

I am not sure how many Wing Riders know that Honda is now providing BOSCH R6 Spark Plugs instead of Champion Spark plugs.
My 2005 unicorn was turning OFF in 2000-3000 RPM and I was sure that it was something to do with the Spark and its Adapter, I Initially thought of NGK Spark Plugs, later I decided to stick to Stock and went to HONDA Showroom and it was a surprise that I found BOSCH Sparks as HONDA Genuine spare.

I got the spark and Adapter replace and Bike is running fine now.

                  • hi friends!
i just fitted disk-pads of splendor plus on uni. it is almost 3x thicker then uni's oem pads. after fitting clearance is very less and sensitivity is very high.

is there any con of using such thick disk-pads????

                    • If the pads are touching the disk forcefully even during normal operation, the disk, pads may wear out prematurely.

Did they cost less than the Uni pads?

I got KBX for Rs. 320 /- in faridabad
Also , what performance gain can one expect after removing catalytic converter from uni ?

the bike revs more freely, the uni's exhaust i feel is very restrictive.

If it's not touching the disk, then it's OK to use it. But if touching there are many cons of it. Also please apply the brake very very carefully. The stopping distance has now decreased, thus if not maintained properly, it will cause problem. You can try out the Fiero disk pad (1st gen). It's exact fir and costs 85-90 Rs. If feeling uncomfortable using the pads, then decrease the thickness by using filer.

Well , from outside uni's silencer is the biggest of all the bikes in india. Even the zma's and new pulsar 220's has a bit smaller silencer compared to uni i guess . . . ..
