    is that so ?
Also the oil bible says that the oil must be as free flowing as possible at 0 temp. and as thick as possible at 100 deg celcius!!!!!!!!!
i have used 15w50 300v motul, believe me my bike never went above 100.With the 50 grade oil u lose the free reving nature.

        hmm
        thnx for saving my bike
i was about to pour in valvoline premium 4t 20w50.
any other best oil for unicorn easily available in faridabad region ?

And about new launches , well my cousin is working in HMSI , and according to him, the next launch would be most probably a 100cc bike.(also disclosed in press) There is also a very very small probability for the unicorn makeover and the launch of cbr150r in the current year(according to some automobile analysts)
The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

          • Xw40 or Xw50 does not mean one costs lesser to manufacture than the other. It only means the viscosity of the oil at 100 degrees temperature. Higher revving bikes produce higher temperatures, so u need an oil that can keep its viscosity at that higher temperature. Lower revving engines run at lower temperature, so u need an oil that maintains the required viscosity at the lower temperature and doesn't thicken too much. Higher revving engines need W50 oils and lower revving engines need something like W40 or in some cases W30.

Unicorns come specified with W40 oil, so whatever oil u use, make sure it is a W40 and no other. Pulsars rev higher than the other engines, so they need w50 oil to run optimally.

My personal experiences among Castrol Activ4, Power 1, Veedol Swift and Motul feels that the Motul 5100v is the best and the smoothest so far.

as sarbonoxley suggested go for motul,300v 5w40.Else second option-petronas 5000 sprinta 4t full synthetic, using it myself for past 1.5 yrs.
My only doubt is 5w40 hasn't been shown on the viscosity chart in the manual.Hence am a bit reluctant to use it.
Petronas fits the bill because unicorn requires api-sj class oil and petronas is 10w40,api-sj.

How would you rate petronas 5000 sprint 4t full synthetic vs motul 300v or 5000v.....?.

                • Actual performance wise, I can't say, but technically Motul wins hands down. Petronas may or may not even be a true synthetic. Also Petronas is a Malasian import and Motul is a French import.

                  • actually where ever i have read regarding engine oils in any forum all of them have praised of motul5000v 5w40 ...although oil viscosity is not on the chart given on the manual of honda uni but it performance has been almost the best among synthetic oils....i don't know upto what extent it would be true...

I am using motul 300v 5W 40 on the same engine but in a different frame.
I cruise @ 80km/hr usually but after changing to motul if i maintain 80Km/hr the needle moves to 90Km/hr and i have to look at the speedo to realize that the needle has crossed 90+Km/hr. Its so smoooooth.... it feels like all my engine parts are floating in wax.
