when i asked with a workshop wala, he said that simply fitting a pulsar handle bar will make it crash with the tank... I am interested in fitting a small handle bar like the one in pulsar and FZ16.please help.

Well yes it is a Pulsar Handle. Direct fit. No modifications. working like charm for over 3 years. Just fit it and keep it bit upwards. No scraching with tank

        Ok here is the answer.

        It's a Desi jugad.
You Need a screw driver and a screw.

Open the outer shell of tail light(red one)
there at the bottom of the tail light (the place where you usually see the small rectangular reflector) Screw the nut tightly (Center)
and put the outer shell back. fit it properly in the rear cowl.
        And bingo.

The rear will be rock solid.

I've personally done this on my uni and it's doing great since 5+ years.

Well stock setting is hard. you sure can change it. always make changed in the sequence of :- 1-2-3 or 3-2-1. If you set it half way then you might ruin the shock for forever.

Also can the ride height be reduced?
With stock settings. No. According to me reducing hight is only possible if you switch to low profile tyre or change the size it i.e: from 18" to 17". BUT this will impact the overall dynamics of the bike, Hence i'll highly oppose it.

Get the brake shoe checked and cleaned with sand paper.

Why you want to change that??? Uni is so silent and is better that way. And that makes it diffrent from another bikes.
                    thanks,
                    sam
Your answers are in Bold. And moreover if you could have checked the user manual then you would have received the answers yourself. Everything is mentioned there. Especially related to Monoshock.

                    Happy riding.

any other best oil for unicorn easily available in faridabad region ?

And about new launches , well my cousin is working in HMSI , and according to him, the next launch would be most probably a 100cc bike.(also disclosed in press) There is also a very very small probability for the unicorn makeover and the launch of cbr150r in the current year(according to some automobile analysts)

Higher revving bikes produce higher temperatures, so u need an oil that can keep its viscosity at that higher temperature. Lower revving engines run at lower temperature, so u need an oil that maintains the required viscosity at the lower temperature and doesn't thicken too much. Higher revving engines need W50 oils and lower revving engines need something like W40 or in some cases W30.

Unicorns come specified with W40 oil, so whatever oil u use, make sure it is a W40 and no other. Pulsars rev higher than the other engines, so they need w50 oil to run optimally.

My personal experiences among Castrol Activ4, Power 1, Veedol Swift and Motul feels that the Motul 5100v is the best and the smoothest so far.

Its no where mentioned in Unicorn Manual that you should use 20W40 oil!!!
The manual gives a chart ans specifies you to pick the oil for yourself!!!

I personally am using VP4T. Quite satisfied with the gear shifts and smoothness.

Was using Castrol Active 4t and Motul 300v. Not satisfied with the performance!

With VP4T, engine is not heating to the extend while i was using Honda Oil.

I sold it to get my xtreme. The more i drive this thing i miss my Old uni
for some reason.I feel like hitting myself with a hammer in the head for selling the HONDA.

Motul is great but their 300V product line especially the 5W 40 should not be used for more than 2500 miles. One online site that was selling this oil stated compulsory oil change every 3000Kms.10W 40 300v Fairs a little better i think. And i am using the 5w 40 In my xtreme and gonna change it every 4000KMs.

                              • I just changed my Uni's engine oil from Honda to Castrol Activ 4T and I definitely felt an improvement in terms of smoothness. The bottle had labeled 'Now with synthetic technology' but I am not sure if it is a synthetic oil....

One prob that my bike is having is that the curb's air screw has jammed...and the the guys at the service tells me that either it has to be drilled out or the whole curb has to be replaced! for around 3.5 k....i will take a chance with drilling first..
