don't you make trips to delhi?
The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

            • unicorn problem

I own a unicorn-es 2006(sept), done 28k km. A good motorcyle but the worst service on this planet. I had spent nearly Rs. 8k or more for repair and service at the authorized center only.
Last month did a fork overhaul, fork oil change, carb overhaul etc for 1200 rs. Now engine dies if rested on side stand or front tyre is on a lower level. Sever fuel flow problem, allways feels like choking for fuel. unstable to bone, can't ride even on the painted median.

              • so cut the fuel supply while on stand or try to tune carb ur self by reading plethora of tutorials around the net, leaving one or two cases like ur,my uni is normal irrespective of how it is standing.

                    • hey guys.

I'm planning to buy a new honda unicorn. Well, i will be using this bike for daily community(late night rides too) and am a bit scared of punctures. I would like to go for tubeless tyres as soon as i buy my bike but i read on the forum that it's tuff to find 18' rim tubeless tyres. Is that true?

can any recommend a good dealer in Delhi to buy unicorn? I have another doubt too..I'm extremely busy with work these days so will be able to take just one day off for purchasing the bike, will the registration, insurance and such things be completed in a day?

                      please do reply
                      thank you

                        • Need some advices.

Guys I'm become Wing Rider again; this time with Unicorn (Pearl Igneous Black).

I've the bike few days ago. In here Bangladesh, there aren't any authorized service centers by Honda. So I have to do all maintains things myself with local garage. So I'm little bit confuse about some point which is indicate at manual. Here are they:

                          1. Engine Oil Centrifugal Filter: Clean.
                          2. Engine Oil Strainer Screen: Clean.

These two things I can't understand. Where should I find the Centrifugal Filter and what is the Strainer Screen? Is Centrifugal filter inside in clutch side of engine? Is it necessary to open clutch side cover to clean the filter when it requires (I've done 110 km and will do first service at 750 km)? Local mechanic said to me that, we shouldn't open the clutch side until it is necessary and no need to clean the filter if it is in inside.

Should I kick few times before start the engine at morning? Some people told that, it will help to circulate oil.

One thing more, after drive a while when engine become hot, there is a little tak tak (not from tappet) sound when it is on idle rpm and not moving. Is it normal to unicorn? I had unicorn before but I can't remember these types of sound, so confuse.

Should I change the engine oil before 750 km? Which grades handle the engine smoothly? Thanks in advance.
                          Adnan

                            HEY BUDDY,

Plz dont buy Unicorn now as HMSI is coming up refreshed version of same by Diwali... otherwise by the time U will apply for TR with this on-going model, new Unicorn will be in showroom & U've to chokeslam HMSI dealer for not informing U about this info.

I'm sure right now also they don't know about this info as this is my very personal experience that salesmans in showrooms actually don't know about their products & upcoming products as much we in this type of biking communities & forums do knows.
You must be the change you wish to see in the world

unicorn is due for a complete makeover since long time hence not a safe time to go for unicorn right now

                              • ^^^ Nothing coming so soon to replace the Uni or even to join it in the stable.

Uni would stay for another year at least. Honda updated (well, according to them) the Uni last year and that'd last at least two years.

The Uni still sells at full production capacity and with a waiting period of 2 months at many places (call it Honda's way of holding up the product's value by controlling the inventory or what ever...) and is not even awaiting a new stablemate any sooner.
