good ride so far....

Yeah . Got my bike. 140 kms over!

I am from bangalore. Can someone suggest me a good Petrol bunk. First filled with Shell 5L i doubt i have been cheated . Its 140 kms now and i could feel that i am moving towards reserve. ( Initial when bike was delivered i had 1 litre).

Dazzy has same riding position , but hey .. it is not a masterpiece

and will never will be ( stupid battery .. no kick .. viby compared to uni .. tiny consol.. hard ride) no way close to unicorn .this was bike which inspired me to go for GS 150r which is serving me at my will.

Go for uni , it has achieved cult status , 200ns is yet to be proven , it is having some issues for launching technically . 3 spark plugs 4 value on 200cc

form factor is hight of stupidity and seems some kids are designing the engine to do some power efficiency figures just by squeezing extra sparks ( wonder why other manufacturers didin't think about it earlier including bajaj partners who are internationally renowned for technology prowess .. kawa .. ktm). this will effect the engine dynamics (engine head replacements will be regular & expensive .. leaky engines.. etc)

.Or go for KTM , pulsar 220, karizma

Thanks. Already paid full amount for the Unicorn. Now waiting for the delivery. Damn Honda, they sms'd me 1 month ago that your bike is ready, please come and make the payment. Its now almost 20 days since I made the payment, still waiting for the delivery.
They told 15-20 days after payment. When called they told you'll get a call when bike arrives. I dont understand what is stopping them to deliver it when I've already paid in full and according to their initial SMS the bike should be ready for delivery.

I am thinking of cancelling it and ask for a full refund if not delivered within couple of days. WTF....

keep in touch with them and pressurize them, else they'll deliver the bike to the ones keeping pressure on them

I had to wait for 100 days for my bike to be delivered.. Made 1000 phone calls. I was promised, i would get in 45 days max... At last i had to meet the manager and tell him that i am planning to take Suzuki,. Then the bike was delivered after 2 days. Try the same. May be,

it will help.

Add the open chain to it.

But i am impressed with the engine buddy. Changed plans anyway. Not going for a Dazzy in the near future. I am also a GS owner BTW. The best thing about GS is the mileage i get compared to Uni; At least 3 to 6 KM extra/litre.

This is my first post in this forum. I am waiting for your valuable reply. I will get my unicorn on the next day. I heard that the honda service is so bad. I wanted to know these things.

1. What are the things to keep in mind at delivery time ?
2. Is their any particular portion that i check(can damage usually) before signing the delivery agreement ?
3. What are the thing to keep in mind after getting my unicorn ?
4. What is the speed that i must maintain before first,second and third service ?
5. How to maintain my unicorn for long lasting and good mileage?
6. What are best gear shifting speeds ?
7. I heard that the stock horns are not so good. I want to fit the fazer dual horns. How much it costs ?

That is how the system works. They take payment 2 weeks before delivery. Call them twice a day. Generally bikes arrive in a lot of 10-15. After reaching showroom it'll take another 2-3 days for RTO registration. Visit showroom if possible. And keep on calling them every now and then.

1) Check all the bike papers are given to you, like octroi receipt if applicable
2) Check for any scratches on the body of the bike. If you find any please ask them to fix it. They will not replace the bike. Also ensure you get 2 side mirrors with the bike.
3) Honda advises you to pay extra attention to how you ride during the first 500 kilometers. Avoid Full throttle starts and rapid acceleration [screenshot of the manual attached]. Just pay attention to that.
4) Avoid very high RPM's in the first 500 kilometers. Like do not go above 5k initially.
5) Fill good quality fuel. Maintain correct air pressure. Change oil at regular intervals. Avoid fully synthetic oil for first 10000 kilometers. Clean and lube the chain after ever 500 kms. Ride safe. Fix every problem that you might see ASAP. Your bike will live longer and will serve you better.
6) I did my gear shifts at 3.5 k initially. Now i do at 5K.
7) I am happy with the horns on my CB Unicorn. I cant comment on the same

Check for visible scratches and replace the parts

Never go beyond 3.5 or 4K rpm in any gear.

Mileage depends on many factors.

Don't worry about mileage at least till the first service. Try to fill fuel at a good fuel station where there wont be any cheating. You have to get guidance from your friends or get to know about each fuel station. My gives 45 if i fill in BP and 52 if i fill in Indian Oil.

Do not share your bike with others as riding style differs

Yes Horns are little bad on highways. Not sure of any alternatives.

Honda Service is BAD. After free services are over, try a local mechanic if it is ok with you. Else get friendly with some Honda SVC guy. Meanwhile start servicing your bike, Yourself.

Clean the chain at 500 Kms interval. Service centers do not do it in my place

. Be very CAUTIOUS if you remove the lower half of the chain guard. I usually clean the chain with Diesel / kerosene and then dry the chain. Then apply drops of fresh engine oil.

Tire pressure must be maintained.

Avoid sudden accelerations.

Well, i do not remember anything apart from this.

Pressurize them , they may attempt to push dazzler instead , they usually rout there bikes to sub dealers to get bigger margins i too waited for 8 months

like a fool as though i am buying some too unique thing , i would have got same day delivery if dealt through sub dealers with 8000 bucks extra

, with little hot words they persuded to go for dazzy same day day del with 4000 bucks which was as stupid

, I just went to manager got my money back 100% and booked GS white one same day delivery with lots of money saving and smooth delivery ,thats how i went for superior GS 150r and leaving too happy ever since.
Just go there and threten them to talk to Honda head quaters .

230 kms on Odo.

Filled petrol for 5 L (1 L initial delivery)

Rode 230 kms so far . Reserve @ 204

Mileage- 43kmpl so far.

warm up the engine for 1-2mins in the morning before starting to ride..

keep the rpm between 2-4k while riding, shift accordingly..never lug the engine..

regarding chain lubrication, gear oil would be better as they are thicker.. i use shell gear oil grade sae90

for horn u can add one more horn and connect both the horns via a relay

Installing two stock horns is better ? I want it to be like fazer horn
