you can set the idle rpm to ~1300rpm when engine is hot or you can ask them to correct the idle rpm if you are visiting the service centre soon..
speedo cable might have broke..tacho and other guages are working?

seems like the service centre guys are playing with your bike..they are doing everything twice as they are not doing it correctly, change the service centre and see..

I got a taste of Honda' Service

I visited B U Bhandari Honda ASS, Vimannagar, Pune. I told them that my speedometer is not working. The speedo cable had broken.

The workshop guy told me to purchase a new cable, as it is not covered under warranty. I argued that its just 80 km running (2 days) and your parts has broken. Workshop manager was also there and he intervened and told me that honda manufactures this parts and they are not responsible for it . I was irated at this point, told him that you are part of honda and you owe the responsibility. Whats the use of buying genuine parts if you can not guarantee quality? Overall, not a good attitude. I understand that it was not covered under warranty, but he mas making me feel like I made a mistake buying a honda bike.

Is there any good Honda ASS in Pune? I have honda activa at my home in Gujarat and the Honda ASS there is very good. They have resolved all my queries very patiently.

All my servicings have been done at a Honda ASC near my house. There is another service center near my place which is very big and while working on the bike they dont allow the customers in the workshop to see what is done. During my 2nd servicing they advised me to change the rubber that sits between the engine head and engine. Since that time i could hear some strange noise from the engine. I went back to the service center and they told me that everything is fine. At work my colleagues told me that the issue is with the drive chanin and that has to be set properly. I took my bike to the big service center and without me opening my mouth the rep at the service center told me that there is noise from Tappet. I advised them to get that fixed. They charged me 100 rupees for that. This is the 1st time i kept my bike with them for a day. When i got my bike i could feel the difference in the power as they tuned the carb but i could still hear that hissing sound.

I want to get in touch with Honda directly and see if they can be of any help. I will write in the contact us section and request for a call back. Lets see. Will keep you posted.

hissing sound? tappet noise is different, show it to good mechanic outside ASC..

now honda is giving 10w30 oil instead of 20w40.. i've used shell and motul oils..both are good..now running on motul semisynthetic...very smooth...

Let me tell you buddy, i purchased my Unicorn in September 2011 and i am fed up with this bike. The only saving grace is that my bike returns and fuel efficiency of 55 Kmpl in city. I have completed 7500 Kms on my CB Unicorn. Initially with the pick up problems from day 1 i am looking for answers. The service centers do not have any concrete answers and they think the bike is perfect. I change oil after every 1500 kms and still the ride is harsh even till 70 kms. My engine head has been opened twice, once in 2nd servicing and 2nd on 4th servicing to change the rubber as there was oil leak. I do not off road and still service centers say "khadde mein chalane se hota hai". My tappets have been set twice, still makes noise. Both times they did not use any guages. I wasnt aware of any office in mumbai but the last time i called the landline number for their office in Pune, some one picked up the phone and kept it aside. How rude. A few service center guys must have done their masters in Bike repairing by working on my bike. On 3rd servicing they told me that carb setting has to be changed. Now they messed up really bad. The fule mixture is very lean. I will call Honda tomorrow. But any one is planning to kick their *** join me. I havent paid 73000 cash for such dirty ride.

fayad555, what is the stock carb setting for a Honda CB unicorn. I am sure these precious gems at the ASC have messed up with my carb setting and now the fuel mixture is very lean. The end of this month i will go for a bike ride to Ratnagiri from Thane. I want to get the air fuel mixture right. Please help.

shell/motul which ss is better? how is motul? How long it lasts? does it require any top up? If not available is yamalube similar to it?
im now using shell15w40ss. Doesn't need any top up though change its color quite fast. good for 2.5-3k kms. smooth. also available in my place. would you recommend FS for uni?

I will get my unicorn after 2.5 months waiting.. But some people are telling the quality of material used is not good now. I think this may be the reason for reducing the waiting period ( my friend bought his uni after the long waiting of 10 months in 2010).. Is the quality is less ?????? Is their any need of change my dream bike ??
