Ah yes! I stand corrected. Its the 3000T (the mineral one) that I was talking about all the while.

hello guys..ok tell me whether this is true about unicorn or not.... I have read once in a webiste( can remember it now found during google searching)
that "UNICORN GEARS ARE SETTED AT THE HIGHER GEAR RATIO THEN ALL THE OTHER BIKES IN ITS SEGMENT WHICH IN RESULT MEAN YOU COULD ACHEIVE HIGHER SPEED AT VERY LOW RPM THAT WILL INCREASE THE MILEAGE , REDUCE THE VIBES AND MAKES ENGINE SMOOTHER"

has any one noticed it before..i did it with x-treme we were both going at constant speed of 50km my unicorn was showing 3900~4000 rpm and wherears x-treme was showing 4100~4200 ..i know this is marginal difference but may be due to this fact unicorn gives more milaege and might be capable of achieving higher top speed by 2-3 km...

Yes veloci, i use Castrol Racin in my Uni, regularly. Last wen we had been to Rann Of Kutch the uni was ridin on Power one. The vibes are reduced and the engine performs smoothly, plus it prevent the engine from gettin too hot. The only prob with power one is due to the high viscosity of the oil you loose pick up initially. As the engine warms up the bike starts performin very well.

Im my case whenever i go for long rides i.e 1000 km + ride i change my oil to power one. Wen i come back i flush the engine and change the oil to Motul 3000T or Castrol 4T. For city riddin I would not reccomend power one as ther are chances of compromising on performance.

Ok now there is a big problem with my bike thts killin me. Itz regardin avg so pls dont get frustrated ppl. Ive complete 11000 in 5 months. Now wen i ride the bike in city i get an avg of 45-50 which is quite acceptable from a 150 cc bike. The distance travelled is always less than 50 km's and i kill the engine at all signals. Now wen i go for long ride i.e nywhere 100+ km the avg instead of improving starts dropping. Last month it was givin an avg of 30-35 which my pocket could handle but not it has dropped to 20-25 which is jst not acceptable. The service center guy says tht everythin is fine with the bike, no probs. I also got the bike examined by a local mech he too said everythin is fine. But yet im not gettin avg........

Guys pls ny suggestions wht might be wrong. (No one is stealing petrol from the bike + there are no petrol/oil leaks.)

@cosgeo the average that a bike delivers depends also on the speed that u drive. For eg if u are riding the bike continuously for more than 100km/hr speed then naturally u will be getting a less average .The ideal speed for optimum average should be between 60-70km/hr .
I dont know if i am right but as far as possible stick to one brand of oil that u are using as every oil has its own characteristics.I dont think its advisable to keep on switching between synthetic and mineral based.

xtreme's engine though is a derivative of unicorn is slightly tuned for performance. It has a different cam profile as compared with the unicorn. The xtreme has a higher cam lift as compared to the unicorn.

                • mileage

hello guys...one more question answer this plz as every uni rider knows the maximum torque is produced at 5500 RPM ..so if drive under the 5500 rpm the mileage wont be effected to much??...and also tell me what well the appropriate speed for driving on the highways which should give me comibation of both Mileage and speed

that was just an example taken with xtreme

now let say if RTR is going at 4000 rpm in 5th gear then what will be the speed of it...

my question was " UNICORN GEARS ARE SETTED AT THE HIGHER GEAR RATIO THEN ALL THE OTHER BIKES IN ITS SEGMENT WHICH IN RESULT MEAN YOU COULD ACHEIVE HIGHER SPEED AT VERY LOW RPM THAT WILL INCREASE THE MILEAGE , REDUCE THE VIBES AND MAKES ENGINE SMOOTHER "

now tell me whther this is true or not

And also the carb is bigger in Xtreme, uni runs on a 24mm carb Xtreme runs on 28mm carb.

                        • Well guys, Today got a brand new Unicorn. I went for Black with red sticker because only black looks to me too much classic. Red sticker takes the bike to other level IMO. I’ll try to post some pictures of my new bike. Cheers.

Yes you are right, I had a red HH Hunk but unfortunately I had an accident; that’s why sold it. Then the story start……… Later had the Pulsar 2008 150cc but that bike also had a major problem and didn’t feel comfortable with that because I’m 6ft. yesterday sold the Pulsar and have the Unicorn.

Yes in here these bike takes lots of money and after change the two bikes recently now My pocket is fully empty and it will be remain next 4/5 months, I was just saving money for SonyEricsson Xperia X1 but now that’s dream has faded way……….

Ive tried long and hard to inject some topics other than mundane fuel averages, run-in doubts and other such things.
                                Sadly.. Hasn't helped one bit
Rightly said bro, Uni is way too ahead with respect to these mundane topics... My Uni is still in run-in period and migrated from a 2000 model RX-135 (Strong believe in performance, engine refinement)... Let it get over, we can start discussing all these aspects ...
The latest update about my Uni, its covered close to 250 kms, the engine is so silent / smooth that at times i doze off and having used RX for all these many years, its way too different...
