Yes you can.But there's a problem. It costs Rs 1200/-. And in my opinion it's not a sensible investment considering that it will basically add something more to vibrate at high speeds.Originally posted by kushalwagh101 View Postsigpic

suggest plz
Dear Uni lovers..i,m new to this thread nd a proud owner of unicorn (ES) which has done aroud 6k without any hassles and i am glad that i have chosen this bike over pulsar and never once did i regret the decision,,the ride quality is suberb with the super smooth engine and riding the bike is just a greatfeeling.
i get a milage of about 55-60 kms which is quite good for a 150cc bike...
Now coming to the question,i had to travel abroad for 6 months and i miss my bike a lot..
I would want to ask you guys the necessary precautions to be taken when it is not in use for a prolonged period of time..i have asked a friend of mine to ride it for a couple of kms everyweek..would that be enough?
also before i start using it again, shall i give it for servicing to castrol bikezone for a complete check-up?plz advise
Thanks for your responses

It adds up the unnecessary vibrations + the indian bikes are air-cooled engines, hence covering the engines will block the free-flow of air and hence it might affect on the longer runs... Keep it naked

^ then why would Hero Honda put a guard on the Karizma?
Even at speeds of 60km/h, enough air reaches the engine to keep them cool. An engine guard with a slightly open from (like the Karizma R) will do just fine on any Indian bikeWho says Penguins cant fly!

^The Karizma's guard hardly weighs a couple of kilos man. If dead weight is really a killer, why not ride a bike without the body panels / rear grab rail / metal tank (and use a plastic bottle). Why wear a complete riding gear set weighing 4-5 kilos?

Heh never count riding gear as weight,
panels aren't heavy they're plastic. What I meant to say is there is no point in *spending* extra money and adding dead weight(4-5kgs I guess, zma's engine guard). I don't suppose you can buy bikes without panels
.
Just a thought: Why not run around with a roman architecture style fountain on the grab rail?? Look's good to say the least.
No more discussion on this, to each his own

There is nothing that you need to worry . You dont even have to ask your friend to ride it . Just ask your family members to start it and keep it on for 10 minutes weekly once or twice . That should do . No need for servicing . Just requires a water wash before you start riding again . One good thing you can ask your family member to do is .Keep the bike in Middle stand and start the engine .Put the first gear and give gentle accelator . No need for any friend to take a ride for free ( He he ) . Hope this helps

New to honda rider
I bought the Uni on 16/01/09, after taking views of owner's of Uni in BBSR. For the last 9 years I was using the HH CD Deluxe. So this uni drive is not familiar to me. The 1st problem was the gear shift pedal, this has no back pedal support. Fortunately one of my relative who owns one of this told me that he has already changed this pedal, which is also available in Showroom of Honda. so yesterday i changed this one which costs me Rs.150/-. I wounder If Both front & pedal are available, why Honda is supplying the vehicle with only front pedal.I have not measured the Fuel efficiency. What is the speed limit for the first 1000 km or so?
regards
