Nothing to worry. Just change your engine oil and lubricate the chain, and all will be fine

Hey does anyone know about the price of the new speedo of Unicorn??? And originally my bike does not have the trip meter so do we need to make some changes to the machine?

+1, how much is new speedo console, love the sporty look and would it direct-fit my Feb 2008 model?

where did u give it for servicing????
power 1 makde my engine very rough...
if that is not ur prob,try a water wash and as someone else suggested,go for an oil change and chain lubrication

1) I got it serviced from honda service centre
The service was done on 11th of jan....that was second service of my uni

thanxs for the suggestion of oil change but as i have mentioned i got it serviced a month ago then they must have change the oil...

so my question is In a span of one month will the engine oil lose all of its lubricating power ? ..

2) what is power 1 ? ...is it some sort of engine oil ?

also i would like to mention i use only the default oil provided by honda

3) i would try for chain lubrication and tightening .

thanxs for the suggestion ...
but as i have mentioned i had my 2nd service a month ago then they must have change the engine oil because they charged me Rs 222 for that....
so according to me an engine oil l cant lose all of its lubricating power in a short span of 1 month thus make the engine rougher..

in a nut shell engine got rougher after 2nd service instead getting smother.....

hi brother well yes this is suppose to be added with the engine oil well i have done more than 300 km from the time i had got the engine oil changed. well the bike is the same no changes in the gear ratio and still the bike is a one going smooth as it was. no vibrations nothing of that sought.
She is doing great I love this product. and also by adding the fuel addictive the millage has also increased. initially she is giving me 50 km per lt. know i am expecting something better. Well still she is going hot with the current tank so no issues.

Since when I got the engine oil added with the 3m product engine oil plus along with that i went to get the tank fill up with 10 lt. along with the fuel addictive.

lets see what good the bike is when she has done around 1000 km.
Well i am happy with the product.

and yes i had spoken to the company also about this and the engineer also came he took the product and above all he agreed that the product was good.

as for the 3m site well u can send a message to the company and u will come to know about the detailed part since the company has not mentioned on there website about the engine oil addictive for bikes. agreed but they deal in the bike segment also.

Hi,
It's not the time span, but the Kms you have run will affect the engine oil. Even you said the oil has just covered 1 month, check the kms it has run. If it has run for more than 800 kms, you can easily change it. Cause in the initial stage the metal particals of the engine (while run-in) used to get stagged, thus it's recomended to change the engine oil frequently (as much as possible is shot interval, say 500 kms). It will just smoothen your engine and your gear shift. So you can try this method, cause it worked for me. Also, please try to keep the rpm under 5K mark. Always, use minral based engine oil till all the run-in completed. Just my 2 cents. Anyway have a happy and safe riding

Note: All above mentioned theory/method are purely based on my experience only.

Does anyone else here have troubles with the trip-meter, it always shows me half figures.. the people at service station kept the bike for full day (had to walk to work as it was Bandh), yet no good, it is troubling again after a day..

Nice to know that the machine is doing good so far . Will also check if i can change the oil and add some additives as my oil change is due . I have just crossed my second service and had been to a trip to the ghats . The bike seems to be slower that usual . Takes long time to reach 100 mark . Till 80 km/h its ok after that takes some time .Any idea .... Milage also seems to have dropped to 45 Km/l which is a bad sign . Help needed ???

Service Schedule Query

Hi,

I got my Unicorn last week on Friday from Sterling Honda in Pune(PCMC). The service schedule stapled on the manual stated all 4 free services to be completed by September 09. Is the service schedule this tight for Honda Unicorn? or is the dealer taking me for a ride.

I won't be riding the bike that much to complete the kilometers mentioned. But can someone else also post the service schedule for the Unicorn for first 2 years (warranty period).
