  • Hmm... 3 hours, I just don't have the time... but I manage 1 to 2 hours daily. But I can't do half that distance... at least not on a CBZ-X! Once in a while its ok (with a break or two). But as as a routine, no chance!

I am well aware of that dude. And that book, I guess I'd been thru it at a bookstore... Crosswords possibly. Anyways, I'v almost touched 75 kg on 5'10... so any more and its gonna look too bulky... lol. My main problem is time... rather than motivation.

Oops, we are going off topic again... we better talk about Unicorn building rather than body building...

any idea which area the noise is coming from. Take it to a silent place and observer. I had similar problem during the 2nd year. The noise was coming from the rear. Turned out to be a sprokect-chain issue.

                  • I have a nearly 4 yr old Uni, the first gen. The bike is in a bad shape as far as it's clothing, the panels are concerned. Every single part of the plastic has had a crack or a scratch or broken at the support. The Noise they are making pains me.

So I decided to give it a make over on it's 4th bday anniv which is on 20th Apr. I am considering two options. I wanted to know if anyone had to replace the panels recently? Are the old colours available. My Uni is pure blue and if there is a possibility I will stick to it.

And can someone advise me on any other option... ideas for paint job (I am not very inclined to it but there is no harm in looking at the possibilities isnt?). Any shop in Mumbai, that is recommended? I dont want any mod jobs. Just repainting.

PS: making a separate post to keep the context

The first gen panels are very much available with the SC's man. After the front cowl clamp gave way on my grey Uni, i tried unsuccessfully to fix the same with adhesive.
After the umpteenth such session i took her to the SC expecting to be told that old panels aren't available. However, they seem to have seperate spares for the older gen Uni's !
IIRC, the headlamp costs 550/-, Visor 300/-, Cowl : 350/-

Im sure other body panels will be available as well...

                      • k&n on uni

my friend rides a unicorn and his usage is close to 50kms of commute everyday. last sunday we got a k&n(model:rc-1060, Rs.1400-discounted price) fixed on his bike.

                        have few queries:
where would you fix/place the filter. according to the mechanic if we fix the filter under the side panel it would be a problem during rainy season. is it true?

the bike sounded really great when we tested it by connecting directly to carb. later the mechanic fixed it in the stock airfilter box under the seat using the hose supplied by the k&n seller. but after this the bike sounds just normal and the roar is just audible when revved hard only. would the extra length of the hose create any problem (like resonance of air etc)?

so far no re-jetting done. bike seems to run without any problem but experiencing a very slight drop in pull in second gear. any suggestions?

                        • Rejetting/Upjetting is necessary for any filter to give a performance increase. Also, incorrect installation of air-filter can harm your carb, so make sure you do it from a professional mechanic.

I do own a 4th gen uni.. After a week of purchasing my uni i changed my toe shifter to heal-toe shifter because i found very easy to shift gears with heal toe shifter than alone toe shifter.....also the shifting of gears could be done very smoothly with heal-toe shifter thats my observence.....But regarding shifting noise nopes it doesnt make any tak-tak noise while shifitng ..

My uni makes just marginal more noise than electricity bikes... but in the 5th gear almost similar
