Is there a new color for Unicorn introduced, Matte Black? I saw a fully matte finish black unicorn, with the 3d logo on saturday, parked outside a house. It was looking stunning! First time in so many years that I felt that a Unicorn looks beautiful!
Can someone please confirm whether this matte black is introduced, or whether it was the owner's creation?

yes there is a black color from hmsi. well one more thing i would like to add out here is that i have started using the castrol active x mobi oil 20w40 and boss it is great no viberations. the earlier on of honda's mobi oil the bike was not so good. But yes brother the bike know it is great.
Well when the engineer came over here well i spoke to him and showed him the difference also. well guess what he had to tell me. Sir if u go out and purcahse a mobioil from outside then our sale will go down. Well he said even i use the castrol oil in my bike and it is the best.
Well i believe the quality of the mobioil which the company is giving has really gone down to docks. I have tried it and yes I am saying this CASTROL rocks.click me

As suggested by everyone, stick to a 20W40 mineral oil for at least 10,000 kms before changing over to a synthetic oil. Check up Castrol or Motul if u want to change.Originally posted by saif71184 View PostHonda oil which they use while servicing is no good, m planning for a change but m confused if i shud go for synthetic or the one u suggested, please help....

Got my 1st service done
Hi xBHPians,
I got my Uni's first service done today. Was extremely careful not to cross the rpm beyond 4k & the max speed i attained during this period was < 50 kmph and didn't let anyone touch the bike during this time
... When the bike was delivered to me, there was absolutely no petrol in the tank and the show-room guyz had to bend the bike (just like bajaj scooters) and somehow they got it out and after that it just refused to start... (Don't really know if there was any petrol in the tank)... During the run-period i put about 13.67 liters of petrol for 666 kms (till it hit reserve, so it took 13.67-1.3 liters to cover 666 kms)... If i consider that there was not a single drop of petrol when the bike was delivered (best case), then the mileage turns out to be 666/12.37 = 53.83 kms/ltr. Even if there was even 0.5 liter (worse case) when the bike was delivered to me, 666/12.87 = 51 km/ltr... Either way, am very happy with the current figures
and that too during the run-in period... Having driven RX-135 for the past 5 years, Uni's numbers are magic figures to me...
I did change my driving style for this new bike and during this run-in period, made sure that i didn't accelerate / break unnecessarily and at times whenever i run down a slope / approach a traffic signal, made sure that i get into neutral and always turned off the engine @ traffic signals... During this period, my driving style was near standard conditions...
Need advise from the fellow xBhpians as to what's should be my driving style till the next service / kms ???
P.S: I didn't get a Unicorn for mileage but purely because of its engine refinement / ride quality... I was simply amazed by the numbers, hence thought of sharing with you guyz
Cheers,

Thanks a lot bro for the quick response bro, what should be my driving style till my next service (I meant in terms of rpm / speed etc...). In the longer run, i want my Uni to be butter-smooth & should attain a good top speedOriginally posted by sherry_unicornlover View PostThis sounds good. and i must say that you have selected the right bike.

, if more careful driving to achieve above 2 parameters for next few months increases the fuel economy, will be glad to take it too

well keep it at 4k rpm. stay away from too much sudden rush. also when you start the bike first time in the day, keep it running idle for 3-5 minutes and then move. Keep it calm and from next service onwards start increasing the rpm in a constant manner.Originally posted by praneshvittal View PostThanks a lot bro for the quick response bro, what should be my driving style till my next service (I meant in terms of rpm / speed etc...). My Unicorn was delivered to me yesterday evening and the delivery formalities was a big chaos to say the least
... They hadn't done few of the stuffs which i had mentioned in the work log, so had to slog for couple of hours to get the things done... I did hear from fellow xBHPians about the pathetic state of Honda servicing, but yesterday i experienced it myself... For one of the Activa which had come for its 2nd service, they even forgot to tighten one of the screws (heard them conversing as rainbow screw or something, don't remember exactly) and as a result half of the oil had drained down... The owner of that vehicle, randomly just asked the delivery guy to check the oil, he did his round of check & phat came the reply "Oil kadime ide sir" {Quantity of oil is less}... Then the real hungama started, the owner started bashing everyone left & right, then they took the vehicle in a hurry, refilled the oil and got it back... Now imagine, what would have happened, if the owner had not checked it himself ??? Since most of you know the state of their servicing, i urge everyone to check their oil levels while taking the delivery...
Since there was chaos everywhere in Bangalore about non-availability of petrol and i myself wanted to put some fuel & bad traffic in the evening, couldn't experience the drive much...
To enjoy the drive, i left for office @ 6.30 AM this morning and the bike's doing just great
... Its amazingly smooth and the moment i get onto the 5th gear, it just cruises like anything
... I am loving it
... Overall after getting frustrated to the limits, am pretty happy with the ride quality of my Uni...

... I asked the same question to the utterly dumb guyz at Honda, they say, "Don't go beyond 50 kmph sir"... Inspite of me asking about the rpm, they don't understand my point and repeatedly say don't go beyond 50 kmph... I asked them, boss, i can still mess up the engine by revving in lower gears with higher rpms and still be within 50, for which they don't have an answer... I just gave up

Hi , good to hear that you are enjoying the ride so far . Well mine also just crossed 2nd service & doing good . Its not necessary that you keep bellow 4 K rpm & ride in 50 Kmph . All you have to do is very simple .Make sure that you drive in a pattern where the engine dose not get much strain . You can go in higher speeds provided you gradually attain the same with periodic intervals . so don't look at the rpm all the time .Just look at the road and drive . Give gentle throttles , the rpm will fall in place automatically . Try this you would love to drive more .Originally posted by praneshvittal View PostThanks a lot bro...
