    yep
there's been strike in hmsi for quite long time
a 100 cc bike is ready to be launched and is held up due to this strike
so as it is launched , most probably strike has finished
all the best with ur booking
    its worth waiting neways
The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

      • ^^ Ask this in the FZ thread!

        • Hi...

Hi friends, I am newbee here, bought new unicorn on 31st Oct 09. After much evaluation i ve chosen uni out of gs or uni.

          I hve noticed,

engine heating up even for 10 km ride - is it common?

Seems to be shox little bit hard (as i 've lower back ache) - can i change shox setting as to make it soft.

gear shift is also little bit hard - is this common before 1st service.

Pls clarify it with your valuable experiences.

          Thanks

Even i own a Honda Unicorn OCT 2009 model. Did 1200 Kms on ODO.my bike does not heat up. And regarding gear shift it was a bit hard for me initially but after the first service i noticed that it has become lot smoother. So i think it will be fine after some time.

            @ Uni experts

Even i have lower back pain at times while riding the UNI. never had this issue with my previous bike( BAJAJ DISCOVER)..I strongly think it has to do with the Suspension settings. Need to get it changed. Am not sure in which settings it is right now. Can anyone please recommend the settings for Uni. I ride my bike in Delhi and Noida for commuting and the roads are excellent.

            thank you.

            • guy's i have a oct 08 uni , my suspension setting is in the middle hole, as it came from the factory . i used to have severe back problem when i used to ride my activa prior to my uni . But since uni i have noticed my back problem has diminished quite a lot , and had even made a trip of 350kms without any back aches on my bike. only thing is try to sit as straight as possible while riding .

                    Keep the rubber side down.

We rode together in Jan 2009. His Uni was 3 months old then, my R15 was 6 months old!

Engine heating-up in a new bike is quite normal. All the parts rubs against each other with tighter gaps , hence more heat. It will become normal after 500km or so.

You can adjust your shox for a proper setting.

Gear shift will also become ok after first service (engine oil change)

Am still running this oil quite successfully .You can try warming up your engine before you roll it out .Warm up instructions :
                          1.Pull the choke full on.
2.start the bike (kick start preffered)
                          3.notice the rpm(generally 3500 rpm)
4.Leave it like this to gain 1000+ rpm (i.e. 4500 rpm)
now just take it to the ride straightaway(putting choke back off)
The engine would still rev hard but will be smooth and powerful.
do tell me if that makes a difference ?
                          Second this!

Running On VP4T without any trouble. Good gearshift, less vibes, slightly less acceleration...

                          Completely satisfied!

                            Hi Friend,

Today i visited Honda service centre to get shox adjusted to soft. But he refused to do so and also cautioned me not to do, if done so it will be out of warranty.

I have back ache since three years, it has become severe now. I am feeling even small pothole jerks while riding. I am 70 kg with 6 ft height.

Pls let me know what will be factory fitting setting of shox (hard/normal/soft). If i change to soft will this solve my problem.

                            thanks

Quite funny...adjusting shox makes warranty void!. He is fooling you. Try in a different Honda Service center.
If possible try to register a complaint to Honda about that fellow.
