Just a correction. When you dip the dipstick in after cleaning it, DO NOT screw it in, just slide it in as far as it goes. That will give you the accurate reading.

    • yes thats what i am confused about. whether to screw it in or just insert it as far as it goes. i remember in my cd100 the oil level is shown just by inserting the dipstick fully without screwing in. can anybody clear that

You shouldn't screw it in, its the same for cars too.

        • One word of caution here. If the level is found low, top-up with the SAME brand of oil which is filled in the bike. Otherwise it will lead to unnescessary problem. It happened for my friend's bike once

Thanks for correcting....since last 6 odd years I have run Xtreme/Achiever and Ambition with about 50 ml lesser amount of oil !! But anyways I used to ensure max. mark on the stick

Thats ok dude, that won't do any harm. For the 1st 3-4 years I got my Fiero F2 serviced at 5K kms. interval since that was what mentioned in the manual, but after joining xBhp I got to know that mineral oil doesn't last beyond 2-2.5K kms.even at its best. Started changing frequently thereafter.

                              • Honda unicorn review.http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/images/smilies/cool.gif

Hello bikers i am going to write a short review of my honda unicorn .

                                Lets start.

                                KMS DONE-15500
                                TOP SPEED ATTAIN- 112KM/HR
                                MODIFICATIONS-NONE(ENGINE)

                                ENGINE--

Unicorn engine is meant for its smoothness and so it does. Its engine is one of smootest in the country today. Beleive me i have ridden almost all indian bikes but after riding them when i again ride my unicorn i just go spelbound with its performance,it is simply magnificent.Even after riding bigger steeds like karizma and 220-fi i never feel underpowered because it is not only about the power everytime, sometimes performance does matter. It is a 13.5 bhp machine and pulsar 150 is 14bhp and i dont think that 0.5 bhp matters when we talk about smoothness.May be you think i am lieing but my 7 friends has got pulsars and 2 have fz and i smoked all of them many times even on straights.I dont know why people consider pulsars to be the racing devil because according to my experience i win many times against pulsar 150 and even when we have raced only till 2nd gear my unicorn reaches 62km/hr and pulsar reaches only 47km/hr.may be its top speed is little more. Its engine is not too noisy like pulsars and not too silent like xtreme. It makes a good grunt while acceleration which is music to my ears every time i accelerate it.Although unicorn, achiever, xtreme and hunk have the same acceleration and top whack but still it is only hunk which is little bit faster than it but at the cost of its low mileage(its simply depends upon what you need). But still i must say it is smoothest of them all.You can consider it as a commuter also and a premium 150cc bike also.I am getting an average of 50 km/lt in core city and around 56 km/lt on the highway,i have got a worst of 46km/lt only once.
                                RATING----10/10

                                STYLING AND GADGETS--

Styling and graphics of a bike simply depends upon an individual choice and according to me it is excellent and have a very classy look,i like its wheelbase which gives it a big bike look and note that its half portion starting from the footpegs to the tail lamp resembles a lot that of karizma.
Now about the gadgets !!!!!I Think the things which is missing in it is a digital speedometer and a fat rear tyre.Otherwise its look is very sophisticated and unique because of its mono suspension which is new when it was launched and still now it is only fz in which monosuspension actually be seen(i think you all understand what i am saying).
                                RATING----9/10
                                PROS-

                                1.Smoothness of the engine.
                                2.Big bike look.
                                3.Riding position.
                                4.Style and uniqueness.
                                5.Pickup.
                                6.Reliability.
                                7.Average.
                                8.Engine life.
                                9.No unnecessary expense.

                                CONS-

                                1.Stock headlight.
                                2.Thin rear tyre.

As i am a stunter , i love to do stoppies .......this is my only problem because of which i sometimes want to buy a pulsar but after getting suggestions from the xbhp stunters section i am able to do even 90 degree stoppie ,so it is my fault ,and not of my bike,my point here is that unicorn is also a stunters delight. You can easily do drifts, stoppies and wheelies very easily.

If still anyone dont like the unicorn and want a smooth engine than hunk is the bike for you but remember that forgot about mileage after buying one.xtreme is also a good bike but it is skinny from the front and 1500 bucks more that unicorn(both hunk and xtreme).

I hope you all like the review and pics and if i hurts any ones sentiments i am extremely sorry for that but dont feel bad its only my personal review about unicorn.
