    You can. But I would suggest you to wait till 2nd or 3rd servicing. If your main concern is mileage then only do it.

    I've been riding my bike for almost 2 years now, it gives me 48-50kmpl in city. And close to 56-57kmpl on highway. I haven't changed the tuning. Just take care of the engine in initial stages, it'll serve you just fine once its settled completely.

      what u mean by take caring of engine ?? is their any problem in tuning?

        Taking care of engine means not revving it hard in initial running-in period. (Which I assume you've followed.)
        And after 1st servicing gradually start using high revs. Nothing else.

        There is no problem with the tuning. Just that some people like to change the tuning for more mileage, compromising the performance. This is usually done by changing carb setting.

          hey can any help....
          i have a 2005 unicorn with rims n want 2 put alloys...i however want 2 put d yamaha FZ16 alloys witn a size 130/70 tyre...
          will d alloys fit.....wht r d things i need 2 knw...
          i just want 2 knw if d alloys of d FZ16 will fit...cuz m modifying d looks n dont care if d power is compromised...m giving d bike a face lift....

            you mean you their is a jerk below 4rpm for certain gears and for some hear it occurs below 2rpm right then bro its not bajajs problem its just normal with 220 if carb setting is towards lean then you will face this increase the turn above 5 then you wont face this,

              is their significant decrease in performance by tuning ?? how much i can took speed after first service ??

                I can't comment about the decrease in performance as I've never done it.
                When in running in period I never crossed 4k rpm. And after 1st servicing I used to rev upto 6-6.5k. Only after 2nd servicing did I rev till red line. Always avoid high revs in 1st and 2nd gear.

                Its your choice how you want to run your bike. Do whatever you think is suitable.

                  nice pics.i have a 7yr old first gen uni too.I have news for all unicorn ,hunk ,cbz xtreme owners especially those living in bangalore.always complained about lack of power of uni? Well Race concepts of bangalore have 160 and 180 big bore kits for uni and all honda based 150 cc bikes.They are also planning to introduce free flow exhausts this year (2012).160 will increase the power by 10 % and 180 by 15%.All this without affecting reliability in any way.YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAW.

                      SpeedXXX My suggestion is avoid the alloys of fz as it wont suit the uni. Go for the uni alloys instead.And keep in mind that the FZ alloys will make the performance of the uni even more sluggish than what it is now.Why would you ride something like that?

                        unicorn alloys are 18'' and fz's are 17'' and even if the alloy fits, 130section tyres would be too much, it would touch the swingarm, even 120section tyres on unicorn alloys are a tight fit. 110 on unicorn alloys should be ok.

                                My Unicorns first fall.

                                My Unicorn had its first fall in 26 months. Mask, indicators, tank, Plastics, grab bar, saree guard scratched and Bumper fully bent along with the fork bend.

                                Culprit is my drunken friend. I was shocked to see my bike the next day with all those scratches.

                                Silver reflector - 300
                                Black mask - 700
                                Glass - 300

                                Any idea on the cost of head light and the plastic where Unicorn is written???


                                I am going to re paint the bumper, saree guard and the grab bar.

                                Luckily my friend has escaped with few minor injuries.

                                Will stickering look good ?
