    Summer /Winter , what's your experience/ thought ?

    Thanks ,

Shift to 15w50/20w50 for summer temps of 45+. Coastal regions can stick 10w40 for the new hondas/20w40 for the old ones throughout the year. Cold temps regions of sub 10-15 deg need 10w30 or 10w40 pref. Having used the 20w50 in last hyd summer, if you are using inside city, it's fine. Will not recommend for extended riding. The 50 grade at high temps make the oil really thick and even the older hondas aren't made to function on that for extended periods.

Performance/Racing oil induce more wear and tear as that is the only means of extracting more performance from the motor, hence why I'd suggest you stick with regular oil.

Anyhow to start with resolving your current issue please post a picture of your spark plug.

Your engine is running fine, there seems to be no oil entering the combustion chamber which is a major indicator of engine health.

Do suspect the condition of your carburetors vacuum piston as a seized slide can cause the motorcycle to run lean at open throttle positions resulting in the lack of pull when accelerating.

It is very lean indeed. An ideal mixture will leave some black soot on it. But does a lean mixture cause a seizure? Must be some other reason behind it.

No, but it affects the throttle response and can stall the bike at a few points where you lose the cranking. At times you'll need to throttle up a bit when kicking or using the self start.

I don't know this problem has been discussed here before, I did some search before posting but couldn't find anything relevant so posting one.

My Honda CB Unicorn 150(2009 Model) gives a whining sound while riding, but never gives the same sound when bike is in neutral. When the bike is in neutral, how much hard I rev the engine, I can't here the noise. But while riding after crossing 3000 rpm in any gear it gives a whining sound. I can here the same noise in other old unicorns as well(new unicorn never gives that sound).

When I checked with local mechanics, one guy said that sound is coming from clutch plate, it needs to be replaced. Another guy said, it coming from the meter, if we service the meter whining sound will be gone.

Any thought on this guys. Thanks in advance
I do had a similar issue with my bike. In my case thr speedometer was at fault. Try replacing it with anew one.

Faulty speedometer will make a whining sound? What makes it?

Speedo meter is connected with a steel cable that turns as wheel turns. It is in turn connected to worm/gear at both wheel and meter ends. So it makes noise of its worn out or misaligned.

Normally we use 80% front brake and 20% rear brakes... So try switch to this habit.
Regarding sponge feel, see if the drum itself have worn out (not the brake pads)
If yes then drum needs to be replaced. Is it CBS version? Then check for the air bubble inside the brake oil tube

Actually Unicorn doesn't have a CBS version.

I thought CBS is a common feature in Honda.. and a mandatory feature for all bikes above 125cc from April 2018

I think the 150 still doesn't have cbs. The 160 does though. It's mandatory from March 2019. ABS for 125cc+ and CBS for sub 125cc.

About the brakes, I probably have changed the drum pads thrice in 11 yrs but the disc pads almost every year or a bit more than that. The OEM drum pads really last a very long time.

I changed my Unicorn's pads a year back, after 20k of running. The stock Nissin pads lasted nicely. I bought spare from Minda. Works as good as OEM. Purchased for Rs 970 only.
