  • Should I tune the carbrator or let it go like this suggestions please

    Suggestions please

When ever racing I can feel that there is no petrol in the bike where as it is there should I get the carbrator tuned or let it be as I have just done 150 km on it the rpm is 1400 and there is no other problem in her just that I see that it lacks to pickup as if there is no petrol can anyone throw some light is anyone else also getting this kind of a feeling what have u guys done for it also I would like to know if we can fill xtra- premium petrol as the manual says 91 octane can be used and ioc xtra is 91 octane as I was using it in my PULSAR 220 and the ride was supper smooth.

Urgent reply friends as soon I will be in need of petrol. Thanks

Dear Arjun...Wait till its 1st service and see what magic happens to the overall bike performance...check the quality of fuel you are using..Don't worry about the knocking now..

ya you are correct we wing riders rarely look in to this unicorn threads because there is nothing to discuss about it except happy riding experience ..Enjoy your ride....have a safe ride..

Ignore , its good for new engine as you will not rev above break in limit, check FE , after first service everything will be ok.

What magic is to happen after the 1st service? At the time of 1st service, they change the oil, replace oil filter if it is available, cleans the air filter, tightens some nuts and bolts here and there and alters the carburetor settings if complained about pickup or speed and tries to convince that that 150cc bike has become faster than Hyosung GT650 or Hayabusa. What else can a mechanic do as servicing do not alter the bhp or torque of a bike?
But by that time, i.e. after riding 700-1000 kms, the biker becomes familiar or adjusted with the overall performance of his bike and starts to claim that his bike reaches 150 kmh speed at 2100 rpm within 3 seconds and gives an FE of 98 kml.

            • Problem solved

After buying the bike and riding it I was not comfortable as the bike was not getting right pace to ride. It used to feel as if the petrol was not reaching comfortabely or the air was not ok so at 300 km I did something went to the asc asked them if they have the old air filter the yellow one they said yes and I changed it with the green one. Yes yes yes the problem has been solved I did not had to touch my carbrator settings at all and now the bike is as smooth without any problem touch wood

I am a newbie to this thread and XBHP but not new to the best commuter bike out there... i own a unicorn since 08 (vibrant sports) in red..but never had a big problem with it ,just wear and tear parts had to be replaced and thats about it... but now i am facing a problem not because of the machine but because of a mechanic.. actually he didn't tightened the engine screws properly and still my bike ran smooth as butter on a hot knife for a while but now my engine makes a very annoying rattle and it is very very embarrassing..

welcome to Xbhp. Good to hear the bike is smooth as always well just check the nuts of your engine from a local mechanic outside. Just to check if the job of tightening has been carried out or not. Well what's the harm in getting it checked outside as the asc people are too lazy.

New con rod for uni costs just 2.5k ? i have a xtreme and hero guys told me it costs like 4K for the Xtreme.how much it costs for the total overhaul ?

Also dont break the 5K mark for the first 1K change the oil at 100Kms then at 500kms thereafter you can change at your usual interval . No pillion for the first 500kms at least ....ride safe
