Which petrol do u guys use for your bike. Well my first fill I got normal petrol with 5.73 1.3=6.76 in reserve which was there already as the dealer gave me with which I got 250 km run= a millage of 43 or 44. When she came to the reserve at 250 I got her filled with normal petrol with mixing of system 2 & 3 in it addictive with 13.73 ltrs in it I have done 750 km so far i.e. 750 - 250 = 500 km run so far but the meter is still showing me full how come? when I close the throttle I can see the fuel meter going down that means it is not spoilt and also when the bike starts it starts to go up? When I opened the tank I can see the petrol. Is she giving me a very good millage. Touch wood. Shall keep u guys update of this dam excited. For if u never know that she runs 950 km in 13.73 ltrs. In city my style of ride. What ever the result is when she comes to reserve shall let u all know the end result. Of how much millage I got in her.Also I would like to know can we mix xtra premium petrol for unicorn yes or no. If no why I am dam confused on this.Also forgot to mention here at 300 km I got the engine oil changed from companies to mine moto 4 gold 20w40. Which I will be changing again at 750 km. Then at 2000 km

Did you ask the salesman while taking the delivery? Also it must be mentioned in the bike manual. Please check and inform.

Secondly can you comment on the stock tires. How is the grip and performance for city driving. I'll be taking delivery of my uni next week so need to know if I should exchange to tubeless.

well at the time of the delivery I was told use of normal only but the manual says 91 octane or higher u can use so that's what is dam confusing. That's why I asked here from all the other members what petrol are they using for there said vehicle's. Tyres : the stock Tyres are nice but they come with the tube from is normal tube and the rear one comes with tuff up tube. But I am waiting for the day when my bike goes to a toss with a nail that day I shall change it to tube less. right know I am shit scared to take her our on big rides also plus trying to finish up the run in also of 1000 km. Just use normal petrol without any additives to boost the octane ratings. I got a similar mileage of 40-45 during the run in. Mine just completed 1000 kms and will go for the second service. Will calculate the average after the service on a tankful basis.

BTW, my bike recently has started making a buzzing sound, more like the sound of a cricket (insect). I revved the bike when stationary, but it doesnt make that sound. It just pops up when its in motion. Although the sound is really feeble, its irritating. Any help as to what to check for this buzzing thing ? HELP !

even I get this Accutally I am ok as coming from a 220cc PULSAR which makes more noise so I am used to it. But hay just leave it don't fiddle with the machine u will be more happy.

Both Unicorn and Xtreme uses the same engine. The difference other than in the rear sprocket is just cosmetic. So, go to a different SC.

Clean the disk, dirt might have entered.

good one brother but I had read somewhere even felt it in my previous bike it does come but after few km it goes away also. Hence I feel not to do any hanky panky on the bike since she is new let her get old for few days then I believe u can do something about it.Oh I got the old PULSAR 180 horns put I found them in the market for 500 bucks for a set of 2 dam loud ha reminds me of old days unlike today pe pe pe pe... Lol

Congrats buddy and also sad to learn this.... But anyways some tit bits do come in the new one nothing is perfect I am still facing the no petrol feeling I have done 700 km on it. So far I am expecting 1000 km on her and might get a good average shall inform u guys will details.

Btw, dont worry about the speedo issue, the same happened with my 20 day old unicorn, The metre was stuck on 20, but after riding some 5 kms, it functioned normally, although i did take up this issue with the service centre.
Try doing the same or get back to them. This shouldn't happen on a new bike !

Guys, apart from this, my brakes squeal when i apply them, the front disks i mean, the metal rubbing over metal sound ! I hate it and would seriously like a way to stop it ! Help !

Thanks guys, I went to the workshop today and they replaced the speedometer cable free of cost. One issue I'm facing is the engine is getting very hot while driving and I can feel warmth till my legs,also when bike is stationary you can feel the hot engine standing beside it.
I don't know if this due my riding as this is my first motorcycle I tend to drive in 1st/2nd gear a bit more while accelerating from a stop. Is this a issue in new bikes or with my riding which eventually become smooth.

I suspect this with your driving style... This bike comes to life from 3rd gear onwards and is like a breeze in the 5th gear and I rate this bike very high for city driving conditions... Have a 2008 Honda Unicorn and even to this day its in mint condition , at times gives me a feeling if am driving an electric scooter :P

I have completed 10500 Kilometers on my CB Unicorn. I am planning a trip to Goa for 10 days in month of January from Mumbai to Goa. I have a few questions.

Has anyone installed the mechanical ABS on their front disk brakes [http://tinyurl.com/8r9zkpq]. If yes how effective and reliable are these [I mean wont they stop performing when needed, like loss of brakes leading to fatal accident]. Is anyone using it on their CB Unicorn?

Also i wish to use the Motul 300V 10W40 engine oil on my bike for now on. I know it cost 900 rupees but i am okay even if it lasts 4500 kilometers as it will recover the cost of 3 mineral oil bottles. I am looking for long term engine performance, better cooling and being fully synthetic will keep my engine better. Is anyone using this OIL and if yes have they encountered any issues with CB unicorn like clutch slippage?

Also i wish to use a better light on my bike. I am not happy with the brightness of my headlight. My friend advised me to use H4 65k HID with ballast ( Phillips only ) as in that way i would not have to change my battery, coiling and still get good brightness and its also street legal. Anyone already using the same? Please let me know.

Got my second fe after service is 50 yet the mechanics have not set the afr screw well going to get it done tom. As the bike is getting that same old feel of no petrol feeling so spoke to the mechanics and he said no problem we shall fix it tom. First fe was 37 and second was 50. done 907 km till now. What do u guys say on this....
