  • @gurumurthy88 yes, the tyre-swing arm clearance is very less..and the tyre u are talking about has a much higher side wall hieght, so it would be better to check with someone who has already done it...

Yup, the Geocruiser is an option. I've read so much about the awesome grip of the M45 that i'm willing to give michelin a try. If i find out that the Michelins does not fit then i'll surely get a Dunlop.

Right.. the clearance is less than 1-1.5cm for me. Trying to source an old M45 to try before buying an all new one.

              • Help regarding oil

ok guys, I'm broke here.. Synthetic or non syn..10W30..20w40..and company names!! even after browsing through some 20 pages i could find the pros or cons on whether syn can be used.
My uni has clocked 17k kms (all by me). And i am feeling the vibes slightly these days. Is it common for a 1 1/2 yr Uni? And in the Oil change Dept. some one please help on what oil should i use expecting a normal mileage and the same power when i got her. Can i Switch to syn now?

                • Since u r broke, I dont see the point in changing over to synthetic coz u need to purchase the synth oil which is at least 650+ and an engine flush oil which is about 250+. Just stick to motul 20w40. its super smooth and and no-nonsense oil. I think its called 3000T or something like that.

Regarding the vides, which part of the bike r u getting the vibes from? If its the chain, then put the entire chain assembly under the rolon treatment and keep greasing it every 2 weeks. Just plain oil will not lubricate it enough.

Mine is about 26K kms old and I keep getting chain vibes frequently.

try changing over to Petronas Sprinta 5000T which is fully synthetic oil which costs 375bucks a ltr, one of my frnd used it for 5k kms & it is much much better than normal mineral oil & yeah it is not neccesary to do the flushing if you are changing over to Sythetic oil from Normal mineral oil.

                    • Thanks guys. Actually, now i don't mind the extra bucks to be spent. I just want my bike to be Super smooth. So should i go with motul 20w40 or Petronas Sprinta 5000T now?
And regarding the rolon treatment, Where can i do the rolon treatment? And How much would it cost?

If you want to use REAL synthetic oil for your uni then Motul 300V is a good option i have been using it in my Xtreme for some time and now i dont miss my old Unicorn anymore. Get the 10W 40 version of the motul 300V they last much longer than the 5W 40.You cannot beat petronas its really cheap compared to Motul but i do not know if its a true synthetic oil like motul 300v .

I have used both Motul ( 15w50) & Petronas Sprinta.. Although it cannot be compared but sprinta seems to be bang on buck you pay for it..

I have been using it for more than 2.5k kms & wanting to change when I hit 3k kms mark.

Sprinta is much much better than Mineral oil but not in the league of Motul

The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

That was more like for me.. A reasonable oil which is cheap.
BTW no need for Flushing if i switch to Petronas now rite
And i should be asking for Petronas Sprinta 5000T now?
