  • after my long discussion with the valvoline distributor , he finally convinced me to try valvoline p4t in my uni .
    Till now i have done 500 kms on this oil and has ripped the bike till 9000 rpm several times
    Till now i must say vp4t is faaaaaaaaaaaaaar more better then honda oil and the valvoline champ 4t as well.(tested both of them for atleast 2000 kms each)
    the beats of uni are now more of bullet type(but more smooth and silent) , and the bike never say die.
    the more you rip her the more she says "Is that all you can do ?"
    Lets c how long she will say like this . . . . ..

    The Automotive batteries are designed to work best in a typical short start-stop fashion.
    So to increase the life of your automobile battery, blow the horn and flash the pass light in a quick start stop fashion instead of a conitnuous long horn blow or flash light continuous on!!
    And obviously don't stretch the self start far too long.

      Whats the difference between Vp 4t and vc 4t?

        The percentage of additives and synthetic base oil is more in vp4t then vpc4t
        And this results in a full api sm jaso ma2 certified oil ,whereas vpc4t is api sl .
        also the extra thickness of the vp4t gives the unicorn more tolerance to high stress , heat and pressure conditions then the other oils mentioned in my earlier post.
        In short vp4t is a high performance oriented engine oil , and vc4t is a normal operation oil( a very little better then honda oil), as per my experience.

          How much Vp 4t costed you ?.....Vc 4t is around 200 rs if am not wrong...

          • Tail lamp cluster

            Yesterday,I had to replace tail lamp bulb and when the cluster was removed..i noticed that it had a red plastic clear lens beneath the clear outer lens.Both are separate pieces.so, my question is if i can get my hands on a red stop bulb..then i can have a clear lens tail lamp unit after removing the red lens inside.
            Any comments guys???

            Can anyone tell me how to change the mono shocks setting ???I feel that the ride is way too bumpy to be normal!!

                  i got vc4t for Rs. 170(MRP Rs. 226)and vp4t for Rs.250 (MRP Rs. 307) and a reebok socks free

                    It's easy to do. But need some strength. settings are like: Strong>Medium>Soft.

                    Factory settings are Hard
                    there is a small rod given with the tool kit. I use it to move the mono shock.
                    with the help of the rod turn the spring preload adjuster anticlockwise(Makes the shock firm) turning clockwise makes it soft.

                    Always adjust the shock position in sequence 1-2-3 or 3-2-1) Otherwise damage could be done to the shock.
                    Position 2 and 3 are stiffer settings.

                      • Guys need help.....
                        Everytime i try to start the bike after 4-5 hrs it needs choke for the first 5 mins....then if i stop somewhere and stop the bike....i cant start it with either choke on/off. Then I need to turn off the key and cranck it 5-6 times....then i turn the key on and with one kick it starts...sometimes when i slow down in second gear the engine cuts off.....
                        Ppl at the service was saying that the carb has its air screw jammed....cud someone tell me that all these issues are related to the carb or not? I am confused whether to fix the carb.....help!

                        Forgot....its a kick only bike.

                          You should have reminded svc people that it's their job to rectify ???

                          I think svc people may be right just get the part in question replaced.

                          • i have a small problem with my bike...it was running excellently and suddenly one day dont know the reason in 5th gear revs dont go higher than 7.5 max 8k rpm..which results in a very low topend and dropped efficiency very badly now its returning 35kmpl..

                            previously my unicorn used to do 120kph easily now in the same stretch its refusing to go past 105kph and its showing no signs of accelerating..but in 4th gear it hits redline whereas in 5th it doesnt cross 8k rpm..

                            have taken it to my mech,asc but no one could solve the mystery..

                            all this from last 2 weeks.....so wat could be the problem?

                              • i faced the same problem many times
                                root causes were :
                                1. excessive or insufficient air pressure
                                2.chain too much loose
                                3.bad carb tuning
                                4.Once , the problem was solved by changing the engine oil( old oil) to new oil
                                5.Also try replacing the air filter(after inspection)
                                6.Spark plug gap adjustment
                                do tell me if you are done with the above inspections still facing the same problem
