    Default Royal Enfield Bullet 350

    Hi Guys,

A friend of mine wants to go for a Bullet 350 Standard, but the major concern is the maintenance of the bike. He wants a hassle free bike which should not have problems every now and then. Regular service and other stuff is fine. So how does the Bullet 350 score in terms of maintenance?? Either Std. 350 or he might look into other options. Your help and suggestions are much appriciated.

    Thanks in advance.

See, if your friend gets a brand new bike from the showroom and stays on top of the Run in process, periodic oil changes and due services on time the bullet should not be that much of a hassle. But one thing he might need to consider is that the standard 350 has CB points and this could prove be a hassle instead if he goes for a Electra which has a CDI it should be fine. My Electra ran without a battery for a good two years and even though i would nt start her up for days and weeks she would chug up to life after a few kicks and rock the road and thunder around.

My two cents is advise him to go for the electra and have him talk to a previous bullet owner follow thru on the suggestions and your friend should be a happy bullteer.

BTW I still regret selling my electra away.

@ desideep & yamahatrooper : thanks for your suggestions guys,

i have also read somewhere that the std comes with iron engines mfg by RE and the electra has aluminium engines mfg by Mahindra and the aluminium engines are low on maintenance. am i correct on this?

^^ nope, the engines are made by RE only, the aluminium engine is/was designed by AVL of austria.

And, any bullet, needs regular maintenance and attention. Period. There are simply too many things to tweak and check in the bike. Unless you planning to get the new twinspark.

i would suggest a bajaj avenger if you dont want the hassles , and want a cruiser style bike.

thanks pal..... will surely convey this to my friend, he was specifically interested in std 350 else he would go in for either uni/gs/rtr.. lets see.
