As far as I have noticed, Standard model 350cc is more comfortable than the Classic ones. TBTS might not be the best in RE stable as far as resale value is concerned.

So, for better comfort - TBTS (Mileage, as Rahul Qouted 40Kmpl +)
for Good comfort and a bit more resale value - Electra (self-start) or Standard (kick start).

Personally, i would not suggest any of the Classic models as comfort is not satisfactory.

I Own a TBTS and have clocked around 14k kms. The mileage is around 35-38km/ltr in city and 40+ on highways. TBTS is more comfortable than the classic. I dont know the mileage of Thunderbird 500 but one of my friend own's a CLassic 500 since both the bike have same engine i'm guessing it should return same as the classic500 . Its around 25-28km/ltr. AFAIK the classic comes with a pillion seat as standard and you can get it removed if you want. And btw The TBTS is a bit difficult to maneuve in traffic because of the handle but you'll get used to it within a few kms of riding.

Today at a Hero Motocorp showroom, i was checking out ZMR and there was another guy infront of me doing the same thing. He said that its been two months since he has booked a RE 350 Classic, the showroom guys form RE called and said that it will still be another 6-8 months for delivery...so the guy was about to cancel his booking for RE.

Wonder what is RE doing to pump up its production capactiy.

Topic Approved. Please see other topics to hunt down to the RE of your choice, including this topic: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/what-bik...l-enfield.html

Secondly, in the present RE range, there are Classic 350/500, Thunderbird 350/500, etc.

Classic is known for its higher tech and classic designing. See it below:

And Thunderbird Twinspark 500 was recently upgraded after Auto Expo. It now has rear disks, bigger tank, projector lamps, etc, etc.

Or you can go to their site and choose a good one for yourself: Welcome to Royal Enfield Motorcycles | Motorcycle India

Approx prices of RE bikes are from 1 Lac to 1.5-1.8 Lacs, as far as I remember.

The info is there, but you need to research more, or tell us your EXACT needs, so that we can suggest one that is suitable for you.

                  Hi guys,

I would get my 350 Electra delivered to me by this month end. Please guide me through the run in and all other sorts of care that my bull might need.
Another question that comes to mind is, should the RE be the first bike that i own as I havent had a bike before, I uesd to ride on my kinetic Y2K.
Do you guys think that I should rather take a lower displacement bike and spend my 1-2 yrs with it and then move on to RE?

Also, if the classic bullet thump is your criteria, you have to buy the Electra. I am not suggesting the STD350 as it is a totally different beast although it shares the same CI engine with the Electra. Okie, after reading my review about the LB500, you may be a little worried. The fact still remains, I love my Machismo 500 and I really don't mind these small niggles which can be easily rectified. The fact of the matter is, Bullets have old engine technology which will have some teething problems intitially. But, Once a bullet settles down and is on song, there is nothing like it on our Indian roads. I am loving each moment of it and learning a lot from my motorcycle every passing day . As a fellow forumer on another forum said, bullets are sold by RE as premature babies. We need to lovingly nurture them to induce reliability. Get the drift?
COmpletey buy your point Jay i'm a proud owner of a CI electra

                                Hi,
I have posted there aswell, but you see the RE Electra ownership thread is not that active compared to this one....that thread has seen only 3 pages of discussion.
Thats why i am posting here and there to get some response.
