Regular service and other stuff is fine. So how does the Bullet 350 score in terms of maintenance?? Either Std. 350 or he might look into other options. See, if your friend gets a brand new bike from the showroom and stays on top of the Run in process, periodic oil changes and due services on time the bullet should not be that much of a hassle. But one thing he might need to consider is that the standard 350 has CB points and this could prove be a hassle instead if he goes for a Electra which has a CDI it should be fine. My Electra ran without a battery for a good two years and even though i would nt start her up for days and weeks she would chug up to life after a few kicks and rock the road and thunder around.

My two cents is advise him to go for the electra and have him talk to a previous bullet owner follow thru on the suggestions and your friend should be a happy bullteer.

BTW I still regret selling my electra away.

@ desideep & yamahatrooper : thanks for your suggestions guys,

i have also read somewhere that the std comes with iron engines mfg by RE and the electra has aluminium engines mfg by Mahindra and the aluminium engines are low on maintenance. am i correct on this?

^^ nope, the engines are made by RE only, the aluminium engine is/was designed by AVL of austria.

And, any bullet, needs regular maintenance and attention. Period. There are simply too many things to tweak and check in the bike. Unless you planning to get the new twinspark.

i would suggest a bajaj avenger if you dont want the hassles , and want a cruiser style bike.

See uni/gs/rtr are awesome bikes but if he really wants the bullet these will not and cannot satisfy him but if he wants a 'Practical' bike then uni/gs/rtr is the way to go. But if he wants a true classic that he can ride/love and cherish for a lifetime then Bullet is the answer. BTW the new A350 engines are quite hassle free except for a niggling sound from the tappets.

                    got the 350

                    Hi Guys,

Yesterday the RE 350 S Class has been bought. It was a head and heart game between Uni and RE and i guess my friend went with the heart. As of now i have not seen the bike in flesh due to my schedule but will surely post some snaps over here once i see the bike.

Thank you yamahatrooper, desideep, jd666 and buvanrajd for your suggestions and answering my queries time to time.

I am not much knowledgeable about the RE's but one thing sure, you can easily fit a pillion seat on Classic 350. And hearsay, both are comfortable to ride and the TBTS scores one notch higher.

                              Mileage owners help him.

And you are saying you want a bike asap, have you already booked the bike? Usually RE's are associated with one hell of a waiting period

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

Ohhh... so much hurry... Being a wannabe-RE-owner, you must improve your patience skills first...

As for your query goes, Fuel consumption of both, classic 350 & TBTS 350, is the same as both share the same heart i.e. same engine... (it'll be 40+ kmpl)
Comforts? TBTS 350 wins the trophy here due to sitting posture...

Regarding TBTS 500, can't say anything as it hasn't hit the road yet...
