Honda Motorcycle & Scooter, India announced its partnership with Shriram Automall India to sell Pre-owned two-wheelers in India.

Earlier, Honda had launched its own concept for pre-owned two-wheelers called ‘Best Deal’. In the last 2 years Honda opened 60 ‘Best Deal’outlets in 11 different states across India.

The ‘Best Deal’ only buys the old Honda Two-Wheelers and sells them after refurbishment and proper certification, while the Shriram Automall will buy any Two-Wheeler manufactured by any company and exchange it with the new Honda Two-Wheeler.  Both Honda and Shriram Automall aim to sell 3.5 lakh two-wheeler units in the next three years through this tie-up.

YS Guleria, Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, HMSI said:
“At present the industry lacks an organised and reliable structure. Through this tie-up we aim to bridge this gap, currently the contribution of pre-owned two-wheeler market is estimated to be around 15 per cent of overall sales, but the potential is immense.” 

He also said that we are selling around 20,000 units of two-wheelers via ‘Best Deal’outlets annually.

Sameer Malhotra, CEO, Shriram Automall India said:
“Company aims to become the largest organised player in the pre-owned two-wheelers space, initially our focus would be mainly on non-Honda two wheelers but if need arises we can also deal in Honda bikes and scooters.”
