Two Wheeler sales report for the month of August 2016
Hero MotoCorp – India’s biggest two-wheeler manufacturing company has recorded a sales growth of 28% during the month of August 2016, with total sales increasing from 4,80,537 sold in August 2015 against 6,16,424 units in August 2016.
The company also said that it will introduce 15 new products in domestic as well as international markets this year, out of which three motorcycles namely Achiever 150, Super Splendor and Passion Pro will be launched in the domestic market before the festive season.
Bajaj Auto – The Pune based two-wheeler manufacturer, reported a 5% drop in total sales at 3,25,347 units in August 2016 in comparison to 3,41,965 units sold in the same month of 2015.
Yamaha Motor India – Thanks to the rising scooter market in the country, few companies are experiencing good growth in their overall two-wheeler sales this year. Yamaha has registered 22% growth in domestically by selling 74,868 two-wheelers in the month of August 2016 as compared to 61,440 units sold in August last year.
Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. said,
“The major breakthrough in sale numbers is the result of Yamaha’s continuous dedication to develop its products by exploring widely held customer choices. Yamaha received fantastic response from the market for its impeccable line up of scooters like Yamaha Fascino, Cygnus Alpha (disc brake) and newly introduced Cygnus Ray-ZR.”
TVS Motors – Chennai based company posted sales growth of 20% during the month of August 2016, with total sales increasing from 227,653 units recorded in the month of August 2015 to 274,303 units in the month of August 2016.
Their Total two wheeler sales increased by 23.5% from 216,781 units recorded in August 2015 to 267,670 units in August 2016. Domestic two wheeler sales grew by 30.1 % increasing from 183,653 units in August 2015 to 238,984 units in August 2016.
Scooter sales grew by 5.1% from 72,865 units in the month of August 2015 to 76,572 units in August 2016. Motorcycle sales grew by 31.2 % increasing from 87,044 units in the month of August 2015 to 114,195 units in August 2016.
Royal Enfield – Their sales figures are not impressive in comparison to other companies. But, as per their press release the company has registered a strong sales growth of 32% in August 2016 by selling 55,721 motorcycles this year compared to 42,360 units in August last year.
