In yesterday’s thrilling Australian MotoGP race at Phillip Island, Cal Crutchlow won his second race of the season, first being at the Brno Circuit, CzechGP. This is Crutchlow’s first win in the dry weather conditions of the season.

Crutchlow managed to hold off Valentino Rossi, who started from 15^th place on the grid and went on to grab the 2^nd position at the end of the race.

This season’s Champion Marc Marquez started at the pole position and went on to lead the race, but his lead at the Phillip Island circuit was cut short when he crashed out of the race with 18 laps to go, which gave Crutchlow a lead of 1.9 seconds over Yamaha Movistar rider Rossi.

Maverick Vinales gave an impressive performance and finished the race in 3^rd position. Former world champion Nicky Hayden made his second appearance of the season in Moto GP as a replacement of injured Repsol Honda’s rider, Dani Pedrosa. Hayden ended up finishing last after he and the local hope Jack Miller came in contact.

Jorge Lorenzo also managed to gather some championship points by finishing 6^th after starting 12^th. Australian wildcard Avintia Racing Ducati rider, Mike Jones impressed the crowd by finishing 15^th in the race.
