On Jan 10th 2017, BMW announced that Vikram Pawah will be taking charge as a president of BMW Group India from 1st March 2017.
According to the statement released by BMW “With his broad experience in the automotive industry and his country specific know-how, Pawah brings excellent preconditions to strengthen our position in the Indian market,” also “Schloeder, acting President, BMW Group India will return to BMW Group Headquarters in Germany, where he will assume the position of Head of Business Steering – luxury Class” said Hendrik von Kuenheim, Senior Vice-President, Asia Pacific and South Africa, BMW Group.
As Pawah exits Harley-Davidson India, In a statement released by Harley Davidson India, they said – “Harley-Davidson confirms that Vikram Pawah, Managing Director for India, has left the company effective December 31, 2016. We would like to thank Vikram for his contribution to our business in India, and we wish him success in his future endeavours.”
A new managing director is yet to be appointed. Until the new MD gets appointed, the current VP and MD International sales market Marc McAlister will be overlooking HD India’s operations. Presently Harley Davidson has 24 dealerships in 21 cities in India. In September 2015, after Anoop Prakash who had been moved to Canada as the managing director of Harley Davidson Canada, taking over Anoop’s place Pawah was appointed as the MD for Harley Davidson India.
Prior to HD India, Pawah was an Assistant Vice President and Operations Head-Sales heading the sales operations for Honda Cars in India and overall he has 25 years of experience in the Automotive Industry.
