The Indian motorcycle market has grown exponentially over the last decade or so. In the early 2000s, performance motorcycles were a rarity, but now, we have nearly all of the world’s top manufacturers selling and even manufacturing their motorcycles in India. The last few years alone have seen a flurry of new arrivals in the Indian market. Now, we have another… The Austrian brand Brixton Motorcycles is here in India, along with VLF, and it is all thanks to MotoHaus.

We had an invite for a small get-together at the MotoHaus showroom in Delhi, along with an exchange of stories from our motorcycle journeys, and a motorcycle delivery for a Brixton customer. What was supposed to be a little get-together turned into an exciting discussion over everything about motorcycling, and there was even a little surprise for us. More on that later, but we’ll have you know that we had Sundeep (Sunny) Gajjar/MotoGrapher and Dr Manan Chatrurvedi from the xBhp Core Team in attendance for this event.

Before we talk about the event, let us get to know the brand a little more. Brixton Motorcycles is an Austrian motorcycle manufacturer. All of their motorcycles have a rather particular trait: the designs are all retro but with modern underpinnings. If you visit the Brixton Motorcycle website, you will be able to see their complete portfolio and the common ‘round-headlight-theme’ will clear whatever doubts you may have about the styling. Talking about their portfolio, it is diverse.

There’s the Cromwell range that offers classic styling and a laid-back attitude. There’s the Felsberg range for those who like to kick some dirt. There’s also the Sunray, which is as true to the classic cafe-racer design as any. Finally, there’s Crossfire, aimed at a retro-styled futuristic design, and finally, the Rayburn… stripped down to bare essentials, just like the old days. All of these come in various sizes and displacements, so it won’t be a long shot to say that the Brixton Motorcycle range has something for everyone.

Now, talking about MotoHaus, they have been hard at work since the launch of Brixton and VLF in India. We had a chance to meet and converse with Mr Tushar Shelke, the MD of MotoHaus, about what they have already done and their plans for the future. It was rather surprising to hear that, despite them being rather new to the market, they have already opened 7 showrooms around India.

Now, about the surprise that was in store for us… We were supposed to be in attendance at the event, but when we arrived, we found out that Sunny, the Founder & CEO of xBhp and a globetrotter, was to be the chief speaker at the event. Unsurprisingly, MotoHaus was already in the know regarding our CEO’s escapades, his vast experience around motorcycles, and xBhp’s more than two-decade-long existence as the stalwart of lifestyle motorcycling in India.

With all of that experience comes a lot of wisdom and knowledge that Sunny was more than happy to share with the attendees. There were also some questions directed at him regarding motorcycling and how he has been able to do what he does for over 23 years. To that, he said, “From every ride, every rider has a story to tell.” And we’d say truer words have never been spoken.

If every ride is a story, the perspective of which depends on the individual rider, we must have had tons of stories to tell, and perhaps that is why xBhp is still going strong… it is the acknowledgement of all of those stories. The event also featured the signature talent of our resident singer, Dr Manan Chaturvedi, who did not disappoint by delivering another soulful number.

We’d like to extend our thanks to MotoHaus for inviting us and letting us share what we have learnt about motorcycling with everyone willing to listen. We’d also like to wish them the best of luck for all their future endeavours and tons of success to both Brixton Motorcycles and VLF Automotive in India.
