When it comes to the new Axor Limited Edition Handcrafted helmets, the leather cladding for each one is crafted by a single artisan. Axor states that no animals, endangered or otherwise is reared primarily for hides.

According to Axor, the existing leather goods industry generates a lot of surplus hides that are rejected because of imperfections, small scars or subtle variations. They are then subjected to creating unique designs of peak and a finish of Antique Bronze/Oxidized Bronze fitting to compliment the classic leather look helmets.

The features of the leather include- 1) Procurement of each hide from stock and sample lots where the leather has already been tanned but unused. 2) Upcycling this leather adds to the value and philosophy of Axor Helmets. 3) Steaming from tanning or handcrafting is a part of their originality. 4) Due to the manual treatments they are subjected to, a unique craft product is obtained.

Moving on to the most important job of a helmet, protection. Good protection is ensured when the helmet fits your head perfectly and special attention needs to be paid to shell shape design and materials to minimize the effects of a possible impact. That is very well taken care of at Axor. For securing the helmet, a double-D-ring is used for a secure and well-fitting chin strap. The shell, the configuration of the EPS liner, and the secure fitting ensures that the helmet closely resembles the human head shape inside and out.
