At EICMA 2015 Bimota unveiled the new Tesi 3D Race Cafe, the Impeto and the Supercharger kit.
Calling the Bimota Tesi 3D Race Cafe unconventional would be a gross understatement. The hub centred steering chassis design is what set the Tesi apart from pretty much every other motorcycle on the planet! This motorcycle from the future got a blast from the past, with Bimota giving the bike a Race Cafe look. A segment that many manufacturers have targeted at EICMA 2015. The 803cc L-Twin engine is the one doing duties on the Ducati Scrambler. While the rest of the parts used on the Tesi 3D Race Cafe are all top of the line industry standard stuff, from Ohlins to Brembos, exactly what you would expect from an Italian!
The Bimota Impeto was the other bike launched by the Italian manufacturer at EICMA 2015. This bike uses another Ducati engine, this time it is the turn of the Ducati Diavel to share its 11 degress Testastretta engine with the Impeto. The Impeto is similar to it’s sibling the DB8 for this very reason, since both the bikes use the Diavel engine, the chassis is also similar. The bike gets all the bits and bobs you would expect on a super premium motorcycle including a LED headlamp. The bike also has a supercharger as an option which is expected to boost power figures from 160 odd horses to take it closer to the double century mark! That is as extreme as one can get for a streetfighter!
Now for the Supercharger. Bimota showcased a Supercharger which can be bolted on to it’s Ducati powered motorcycles. The Supercharger is expected to increase engine power by 15 to 20 percent. Bimota uses the Sprintex Dual Supercharger kit which has been developed to fit onto the Ducati engines which are used by Bimota. The Impeto above is so far the only bike which can be fitted with this Supercharger, but later on it is expected that all the Ducati engine will be eligible for this treatment.
