Ducati Motorcycles India has started taking booking for the Ducati 959 Panigale and will start delivering the bikes from August. The bike was launched in India in February this year and is priced at INR 13,97,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Ravi Avalur, managing director, Ducati India Pvt Ltd. Said,
“We will start selling the 959 next month and we have started taking bookings. We have received tremendous response in the market for this entry level sports bike.”
Speaking to ETAuto, Ravi Avalur also confirmed that the company will be launching the next generation Diavel and Multistrada Enduro in the course of this year in Indian two-wheeler market.
“Ultimately our aim is to bring majority of the Ducati bikes that available in the global market to India.”
He further added that the company will be adding two more dealers by the end of 2016. They are focusing on delivering top quality service to customers and ramping up the network in India. At present Ducati has five dealerships in India at Delhi, Mumbai, Gurgaon (NCR), Bengaluru & Pune.
The Ducati 959 Panigale is a middle weight sports bike that has replaced the existing 899 Panigale. The bike is being manufactured in Thailand and comes to India via the CBU route. Powering the bike is a new 955cc, 90-degree, V-twin, Superqudro, Desmodromic, liquid-cooled engine that is tuned to churn out 157bhp of power at 10,500rpm and 107.4Nm of torque at 9,000rpm matched to a 6-speed Ducati Quick Shift gearbox.
