Realizing the dream we call Fastest Cyber Apache

xBhp is a motorcycling platform created in 2002 as a single web page on a desktop computer to get all kinds of bikers together. In effect, it was the first automotive social media network in India. As the years went by we rode around the world on some of the best machines and so far we have done over 60 countries by road! Parallelly we inspired a lot of people with our photography and travelogues and fueled the community in India with thousands of meetups.

In addition to motorcycling and travelling, we also love to take up creative projects. An example could be when we put 1,340 HotWheels cars on a 1,340cc Suzuki Hayabusa or when we designed custom helmets inspired by the design of a particular motorcycle using 3D additive design. In essence, all our work is digital before the start of anything, from roadtrips to these projects, and then it is digital afterwards as well.

All this work, both pre and post-project, was getting more and more intensive on our hardware; higher megapixels, 4K videos, RAW files, and also, some 4K gaming in free time on a massive 120” screen. So, we needed something with enough brute force to tackle these tasks. And that is what gave rise to this particular project; amalgamating our two loves computers and motorcycles- the two things that are the basis of xBhp’s existence.

Welcome to the making of the Fastest Cyber Apache!

The Inspiration

The process started with a discussion of the feasibility. Even though it had to be done since the seed was already sown, we needed to see how to go about it. Scouring the internet brought up maybe two or three odd projects of this sort from around the world. Surprisingly, we could not find anything even remotely close in India. That was even more incentive to see this project through.

So after a lot of comprehensive discussions, we figured there were three pieces to the puzzle that this project was; the motorcycle to base our build on, the components that will go into the build, and the procedure of making it. Simple enough? Not really, this simple breakdown had complexities flooding in like a racket. So, read on.

First up, we needed to decide on a motorcycle. Some of you may know that the xBhp Garage is home to some of the best motorcycles in the world; from the Ninja H2 to the Rocket 3 R, and from the 3rd Gen Hayabusa to the FTR 1200. But we wanted to go with something that was made closer to home and yet, represented speed and supremacy along with the pride of being made in India.

There are a few motorcycles that come close to those requirements but the one that was the closest… we had it in the xBhp Garage. The TVS Apache RR 310- a sports bike that has all that we needed; speed, beauty, and the pride of being completely made in India. Injected with TVS Racing’s decades of experience on the racetrack, it was the perfect machine. We think, and a lot of people may agree, that the TVS Apache RR 310 is one of the most beautiful motorcycles in the world and a profound statement that India has arrived!

Now that we have come so far in this project and with how it’s shaping up, we are even more convinced that we could have gone with anything better than the Apache RR 310. Now that the motorcycle was sorted, it was time to christen this project. After several permutations and combinations, we decided to go with The Fastest Cyber Apache.

The Components

Now that the motorcycle is sorted, let us talk about the components that will go into our build but with a little pop-culture twist. First, the processor. We are going with an AMD Ryzen 5950X. Why? Because when it comes to absolute domination in the desktop space, be it productivity or gaming, the AMD Ryzen 5950x is a processor that can handle it all and then some with its 16 cores, 32 Threads, 3.4 GHz base clock and 4.9 GHz boost clock.

Now, does boost not remind you of a certain motorcycle, the mighty Ninja H2? So, the Ryzen 9 5950X can be the superb inline-4 of the Ninja H2. But it is missing a supercharger, is it not? We have just the thing.

The ASUS ROG Strix LC II 360 ARGB AIO liquid cooler. 360mm of cooling goodness with its radiator and three 120mm fans to go with it. That is enough firepower to keep the operating temperature of the 5950X well within check. The lower the temps, the more the processor can boost and also, maintain it for longer durations. The best part about this closed-loop liquid cooler though is that the fans feature addressable RGB lighting. It also reminds us of Princess Elsa and her ability to control ice and snow.

Moving on, we need a home for our processor, a motherboard. For that, we chose the Asus ROG X570 E Gaming. Remember how we mentioned that the Ryzen 5950X needs lower temps to boost and maintain the elevated clocks? Power is another factor and that’s where the ROG X570 E Gaming comes in. With its robust power delivery, it can feed our processor as much power as it wants all day long.

Then we have dual M.2 with their own heat sinks and WiFi6 connectivity. And it looks that way too- premium and cool with the rainfall and cyber-text patterns. And with the onboard ARGB headers, you can match the lighting of all your devices with Asus Aura Sync.

The fact that it is the control room of our Apache and the fact that it actually ties up a lot of tech and manages it, calling it Iron Man won’t be too wrong. There’s no one cooler than him when it comes to creating and harnessing the power of technology and without the motherboard, no component will work.

The next component in line is the RAM. To respect the capabilities of our processor and the motherboard, we need good ones, and cool-looking ones, something with RGB. So, we went with G.Skill. Run by people who are enthusiasts themselves, G.Skill is one of the world’s leading memory module manufacturers. The specific model we went with was Trident Z Neo- high speed, tight timings, and beautiful design topped off with tasteful RGB. For our build, we are going with four 16 GB 3,600 Mhz modules for a total of 64 GB of RAM.

The character we matched the RAM with is something we are very proud of- The Taskmaster. This guy can replicate any physical movement, no matter how complex it is, thanks to his photographic memory. But, much like the RAM, as a side-effect of his abilities, his personal memories are often lost in a form of amnesia that comes from his brain internalizing the moves and fighting styles he memorizes. So once you switch off the computer, everything stored on the RAM is gone!

Then we have the storage. Spinning drives are old news and we need something more, something that can match up to our processor and something that can take advantage of the Gen4 storage capabilities of our motherboard.

XPG or Xtreme Performance Gaming provided us with just that. A subsidiary of ADATA Technologies, XPG combines affordability with scathing performance when it comes to storage devices. A testament to that is the 2 TB Gammix S70 PCIe Gen4 SSD that we are using. With read speeds of up to 7,400 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,400 MB/s, it is more than one can ask for both in terms of space and speed. Not to mention the massive yet beautiful heatsink that not only adds to the looks but is claimed to have the drive run up to 30% cooler for sustained top speeds.

We matched the RAM with the Honda Goldwing. Substantial storage, more compact than a car, and pretty darn fast. Load it up, hit the road and travel the world. Both the RAM and the storage come courtesy of Acro Engineering Company, one of India’s largest importers and distributors of PC hardware and one of the major contributors to bringing international brands and world-class products to India. Considering how difficult it is to get high-quality components in India we are really thankful to such companies.

Coming back to the components, it is now time for the Big Gun, literally too! Our graphics card. ASUS. ROG. Strix. RTX 3080Ti. It is a massively powerful GPU and comes within striking distance of even the 3090. But the ROG STRIX 3080Ti OC is a different beast altogether. Firstly, it features top-of-the-line capacitors, chokes and MOSFETs – vital components of the power delivery system. They have to be of top quality especially when your GPU may demand power in excess of 350 watts!

Next, that much power comes with a significant amount of excess heat. That is why the ROG Strix RTX 3080Ti is a massive 2.9-slot card that features 3 fans over a beefy heatsink. Not only is the cooling apparatus of this behemoth more than enough to handle the 3080Ti at stock clocks, but it can also even deal with overclocks.

Talking about overclocks, you get a decent one right from the factory since ours is the OC variant. In OC Mode, the ROG Strix 3080Ti can hit a boost clock of 1,845 MHz with ease. And even then, there’s room for more and towards that end, you can use ASUS GPU Tweak II in order to overclock the GPU further!

Finally, the design of this Graphics Card is fantastic too. A sturdy flow-through backplate, brushed metal accents on the shroud and, of course, RGB that can be adjusted to taste with Aura Sync.

In terms of a parallel, we went with the Triumph Rocket 3 R. Big, bulky, beautiful and yet, mind-blowingly fast. The world’s largest capacity production engine is quite something and of course, those three fans can also go well with the three cylinders of the Rocket 3.

Onwards to our last component and perhaps the most special one too. A monstrous configuration like this needs a monstrous amount of power. Coming to our rescue is the ASUS ROG Thor 1200P- 1200 watts of pure, unadulterated, uninterrupted, and clean power for our world-class components. High-quality components on the inside ensure that the ROG Thor 1200 P achieved LAMBDA A+ and 80 PLUS Platinum certification.

Now, contrary to what the norm is, the ROG Thor 1200 P is just as impressive on the outside. Gone are the days when the PSU was supposed to be brick that needed to be hidden away. With Aura Sync RGB illumination and an integrated OLED information panel, the ROG Thor 1200 P is one of the most capable and one of the most beautiful Power Supply Units you can get your hands on. Not to mention that it is fully modular and gets pre-sleeved cables… talk about premium.

For this one, we had two contenders for drawing parallels. One is the God Of Thunder, Thor, and the other one is The Flash. We finally went with The Flash as he was created by lightning in the first place and it was lightning that made him the fastest man alive; quite like the PSU powering all the components and bringing them to life.

Finally, we have the case, or more precisely, the chassis. We went with ASUS TUF GAMING GT 501- spacious, sturdy, reliable, and capable of housing the best of the configurations such as ours. As for pairing it up, we went with the Infinity Gauntlet since it houses all the components but Iron Man’s and not Thanos’.

Now, as you have seen, most of our components come from ASUS ROG. But why is that? It is simple – ROG is a sub-brand of Asus dedicated to the most hardcore gamers and enthusiasts. During our quest to find the best components for this very special build, most of our efforts led to ROG being the best in business. Continuous evolution and innovation have established ROG as the go-to brand for people like us who want nothing but the best. From looks to performance and purchase to service- there is nothing quite like the ROG experience.
