Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) confirmed the launch of Africa Twin Motorcycle (Off-road / dual purpose) in the end of first quarter of 2017-18 FY. Africa Twin was showcased in Delhi during the Auto Expo in 2016 and had planned to launch in the same year in India but due to earthquake in Japan the production process got delayed and finally the expected time period has been announced as a bit later this year in 2017.
As per the Economic Times news update, Africa Twin will be assembled in India (Manesar Unit) as it comes as completely knocked down (CKD) to India. Adding Africa Twin, HMSI has two premium products getting assembled in India. CBR 650 R & Africa Twin. Africa Twin is powered by a 998cc engine which produces 92 PS of power and 95 Nm of torque.
