With the festive season closing in, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India aims at boosting its sales over 20 per cent.
The company’s Gujarat plant is all set to crank it up a notch in order to address the pressure on deliveries in the midst of the festive season.
Y S Guleria, HMSI Senior President, Sales & Marketing said, “earlier we were a little conservative with the outlook but now we expect sales growth over 20 per cent in the festive season.”
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India also strives to initiate operations of a third line in its Bengaluru plant by mid 2017.
“It will take our total installed production capacity to 6.4 million units by the middle of the next year.” Guleria said.
Regarding the addition of 800 sales points this year Guleria added, “Over 90 percent of these outlets are coming up in tier II and III towns. We are inching closer to last mile in terms of our presence.’’
Honda’s prized possession, Honda Activa plays a pivotal role in contributing to the sales of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, in turn becoming the first automatic scooter to surpass the sales of motorcycles in 17 years.
The company plans on reaching the mark of 5,400 outlets in the country in March 2017.
