Back in 2008 I first saw a futuristic out of the world motorcycle, the Victory Vision. It was like spaceship on two wheels. From certain angles you couldnt even see the wheels and it appeared like a hovercraft. I shot it in our vey own New Delhi and I rode along with it in a group till Lansdowne and back. What an amazing bike it was.
And now what an amazing brand Victory ‘was’. I never saw this coming. Polaris has SHUT DOWN Victory Motorcycles. Shut down.
I am not sure if it considered selling the brand to some rich guy or conglomerate first, but let me not get ahead of myself. It is a big company and it must have considered all options.
Even if it sold the brand it might have ended competing against its primary motorcycle brand – Indian Motorcycles.
Marketing and managing two similar brands would have been a massive challenge of course.
But this..
This further solidifies my belief in the fact that do what you can to save what you have now and keep working, you never know what tomorrow hold for you.
It is a sad day.
As a remembrance I would like represent the shoot of the Victory Vision I did so many years ago, see it here.
