Hey guys...i am using rtr abs .One month old(only first service done). It clocked 1400 in the odo. The bike experiences lot of vibes once i cross 5k mark and continues all the way till redline.
Bike struggles a lot to reach higher rpms. currently using Shell Advance AX7 semi synth and Shell super unleaded petrol....Can anyone let me know about the problem my bike is facing ???

                ABS Issues

                Hi everyone,

I have been a silent observer at xBHP since the past 2 yrs now, I was planning to buy the bike but have heard from many sources that the ABS on the bike fails, here in Ahmedabad none of the Dealers are willing to even book the bike.

It has also come to my knowledge that TVS has pulled the bike out of the market, owners please help me here and clarify, if there is anyone else who has heard any of this news.

.........I am using apache rtr abs and its awesome. You wont believe this bike until you test ride it. you can blindly lock both the brakes on any kind of surface and i am not making this up. ABS works perfectly on this machine. its HECU(Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit) has an advance Error detection system, so it senses any kind of problem and warns us . Dont believe all the shit said by showroom guys. Apache rtr 180 ABS is a great product from TVS.Test ride this bike, if you like it then go ahead and buy ......

Isn't the ABS Supposed to work the otherway round and not lock up the brakes.

No. On CBR, it's C-ABS. Apply rear brake and front also gets applied partially. On RTR, front and rear are completely independent.

Complete rumor! Dealers must be stepping back, coz they feel its very complicated and difficult to service for them. Also, it wont fail as long as one do not fiddle with it and use it like just another disc brake vehicle.

Note: On any ABS vehicle, rider/driver is not supposed to pump the brake or apply pressure with full force every time. ABS will kick in and work whenever necessary.

These TVS dealers are soooo lazy dumb heads...
@bold part, as far as i have read theres nothing wrong if you break hard on an abs break, the abs will make sure only the right amount of force is applied even if you use extra force...

                          @mansuryayas
tvs aint gonna stop the abs production, afaik... its a hit and a great stepping stone in indian biking history

                            Hello Xbhpians!
Need some help to buy a good RTR 180ABS/180/160/160Fi

I had Bought an RTR ABS yesterday from Indoshell TVS Coimbatore, which had lot of problems like,
challo yaar wanranty haynah! I had no option took the same day, but next day morning my friends spotted the scratches. Latter we understood that it might be a demo bike so returned the bike back to showroom n the sales in charge agreed that he will give a good one from a new lot

During my last month test drive of ABS RTR on both gravel & tarmac, I was more impressed with the front brake behavior on gravel. I felt some 5 to 7 brake pulse on gravel during last month TD, but the bike I bought gave only 2 to 3 brake pulse
                            . don't know how/why this difference is(HECU became old / unreliable?)

                            My questions are

                            1. Does all the problems mentioned above exist in RTR ABS & RTR 180?
                            2. My understanding is correct > the machine I had bought is a demo bike? Actually the sales head told me that there's no ABS bike available @ that time but suddenly (within 10mins.) one sales guy took this bike to me telling its for U
                            3. How about RTR Hyper edge?

R15 is also in my mind, since I've not paid the full amount.
                            Disappointment > confused, please help
truth is stranger than fiction, everywhere!!

I believe that the root cause of all your mentioned problems is you believe that your Bike is not a new one..

Pls. see A180 ownership thread. About 5 xBhpians have indeed shared their experiences with the A180-ABS and none of them has these many problems.

get peace of mind by returning this bike and select a new A180-ABS preferably from a 3-5 bike lot.

                                Exactly!!

Dont fall prey to dealer/sales man tactics. Insist them on getting a new bike from a fresh lot.
