No, the tyres havent been changed. Even I was expecting Continental tyres after reading somewhere on the net but its the same TVS tyres only. Not sure if they are the same as 180 but they are TVS tyres.Originally posted by smart_smarth007 View PostSimply said, The write-up is not upto the mark. It talks about all kinds of things from holi, itenary, national highways, etc but not the bike..
The only paragraph he talked about the bike was-"The bike performs really well in the hills......the bike has got rock solid suspension and body built." ie para 6.
The writer simply forgot that this is a first impression of the ABS system on the bike..
Please throw some more light on the ABS, and other features on the bike like the DC electricals, and what else is new.. I heard that they changed the tyres too, is that the true.. I would love to hear on topics like these..
And - No offense.
As far as the braking is concerned, u need to either have a wet surface or mud surface or do 3 digit speeds to feel it instantaneously. Since my ABS hasnt even crossed 100 kms, i am not doing 3 digit and only way i could experience ABS is muddy roads. I really found it tough to accept that it can break so well in fine sand, it redefines physics which is cool. Apart from tht on normal roads, I didnt feel any rush to reach for my brakes at any time. I really got used to ABS in first few kms and from then on I started using the brakes with very ease however hard the occasion demands.
The ABS definitely makes me feel the every extra penny spend for it worthy.

RTR 180 ABS is equipped with ABS on 'both' the wheels. But the working of this ABS is different from that of CBR250R.In that case,it is combined ABS(both the brakes are applied at the same time),here in RTR,both the brakes are independent.Originally posted by sparxblood View Postjust wanted to know if the rear wheel also has the abs or its just for the front wheel....
whats the price...
Price around 93-94k on-road!
D.I.Y-Valve clearance setting RTR180
D.I.Y-RTR180 brake fluid replacing/brake bleeding
D.I.Y-RTR180 brake pad replacing/cleaning
Exploded view of Mikuni BS-29 carb

Price around 93-94k on-road!A very good and safe biker not only because he can pop up either of the wheels, scrape his knees on a corner or go fast and make it look stylish but because he very well knows his limits and capabilities and has the patience to learn about others and ride safe ! :)

u mean in fireblade its kind of combi brakes like those in activa??
and how does the on and off switch work on abs?? i mean its a hydraulic thing ryt?? nothing related to the electricals so how can a switch switch it off??
and if we put the switch to off, can we say that the RTR 180 non abs and RTR 180 abs are the same at that point of time??My Motto :: NO SMOKING NO DRINKING...
Because I am addicted to something far more exciting... SPEED!!

Yeah, the C-ABS does its duty on the Fireblade too.It 'is' related to the electricals.RTR180 comes with HECU.The H-ECU or the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit is the heart of the system, which constantly keeps monitoring the front and rear wheel dynamics through the individual sensors on each wheel.Originally posted by sparxblood View PostThanks Drifty for the info...

Yes,when you switch off the ABS,the it will behave like a normal bike as the sensors stop monitoring the braking response.
You are Welcome!Originally posted by nin View Postreally ? i didnt know this..thanks for that insight !

If you turn Off the ABS, its normal bike. All stunts can be done. And BTW, that is called stoppie or EndoOriginally posted by aargee View PostPardon my noob question - On pic 9, where Manan does a wheelie on front wheel - I'm under the impression that the wheels does not get lock due to ABS. If that were the case, then how was that stunt possible
There's lot to it other than saddle....

TVS has done a very neat job in bringing us close to ABS tech & I believe it will bring more bike manufacturer to take that in thought process that ABS should be an option when we buy an bike especially ones manufactured in India ,called 180-250cc .
When I m going to buy any next upgrade be it an bike manufactured in India , I will try to have an bike with ABS tech , as it will not only save our life but may also save the life of the third party . Now, with Apache coming to the scene of bringing this tech to us surely Bajaj must give us the same . I dont mind spending more 25K for safety .
Thank you Manan Bhai for sharing your inputs, looking forward to meet you soon ."BiKiNg in INDIA is like JOGGING in IRAQ ,something may HIT YOU"

Vibrations in 180 ABS
a quick question for people who have bought the 180 ABS. I read somewhere that the vibration problem (above 100kmph) is solved in the ABS version? Anybody can vouch for this? Also, what are the other major differences between the 180 RTR and the ABS version.

I dont have the RTR180 but i ride RTR160, To me the bike vibrates only between 55-65 kmph and every time you cross the redline. In top gear the bike refuses to cross the redline but you can do 100 kmph in 4th easily so in 4th it will vibrate a lot but there will be no harsh vibes in 5th gear @100 kmph.Originally posted by gsb View Posta quick question for people who have bought the 180 ABS.
