I laid hands on the RTR ABS for the past two days,

    My Observations,

The Disc plates do not lockup at any speed and any pressure.

Its simply awesome, but a weird unstable feeling while applying the brakes, coz may it the 1st time I am using it.

Vibes are Trademark RTR or Even Copyright @ RTR, coz there is nothing new in the RTR ABS's Hardware apart from the ABS itself.

So from a safety perspective the RTR ABS is worth it, overall it did not prove much sense to me.

      Yeah Vineshp & Chicane1879!
Thanks!! I feel the same way.
when I returned the bike, the sales head took it inside quietly & agreed to get a good RTR from a fresh lot

I'm waiting still...don't know will I get a chance to choose this time
If at all, my problem is selecting good one, don't know how to find a good RTR
help me to validate n pick a good RTR

      Thanks

Wasn't this supposed to be "First Impressions" stuff?

Why has this been moved to the ownership section. Most people use the TVS RTR 180 ownership thread to discuss both ABS and non ABS versions of the bike (they are exactly the same except for electrical and ABS)

              ^^
I don't get it as well... Was this needed at all?
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

I've APache RTR 180 and I am facing knocking problem from last couple of months. servicing center guys says reason behind this is petrol mixing.
                  Please help me.

I am also experiencing performance issue with my bike .

                  Any subjection would be appreciable.

As per my knowledge knocking is due to lean air/fuel mixture. ask your svc guys to re tune the carb.. . Further knocking can be reduced by using premium petrol(go for shell super petrol) and shifting gears after 5rpm (single) 6rpm(with pillion). Don't ride at lower rpm when in higher gears.

If your bike is less than an year old, then performance degradation is only because of wrong tuning

Friends, our Apache 180 ABS is all the same Apache 180 with the ABS kitting.

So, it will be better if we keep all the discussions about our lovely Apache in the Apache 180 ownership thread itself. Moreover that thread is very active-you'll find more response there. Thanks!

There is an offer running on pre facelifted RTR180 ABS which are available at a discounted price at TVS showroom in Wakdewadi, Pune. Similar options should be available at other dealerships too. Check it up if anyone is interested. I was offered one today for a 5k discount without haggling.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

There is no first impressions for the New RTR 180 but I TRed one of them the other day, a longish TR.

I must admit that this was the very first time that I ripped an RTR 180 this much but I was actually impressed by the lack of vibes in the low end, below 6k RPM, it was 95% as smooth as my Pulsar. But as I took it over 7k, towards its 9k redline, it all went downhill. All the things infront of me looked as if they were beetle wings. The reason I am writing this 4 days late, is because, it took me 4 days to figure out what it looked/felt like. I still don't have words to describe the feel of the vibrations, maybe quite close to cellphone vibrator only with more amplitude.

Anyways, the bike was the facelifted model, and almost brand new with the odo showing 227km when I returned it.
