Yes you can turn off ABS by pressing it for 3-4 seconds ... if you pressed it for 6 seconds it might reset ABS which is not recommended ...

My friend bought the pre-facelifted version for 89k OTR. This was before the facelifted version was announced.

Nice ride, but if you're expecting it to perform like the ABS found on cars then you're in for a surprise. But when upright, it kicks ass.

Crisply written and nice photographs. The only thing I like about TVS is their headlights, and boy, the the throw of light from their headlights in almost everybike is excellent.

            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            THE END

Here is the First Impression from me too

Model On Road 95,000 at Mumbai.

              Stock Specification -

              Now Personal Motorcycle Experience:- Review:-

              Engine Performance

Engine Oil Used till now by me is TVS Tru4, Shell Advance, Motul15w50 & Motul 10w40. After so many research & personal experience what I feel is there is no Rocket science about Engine Oil there is nothing big you can expect from Engine Oil change apart from Engine Life which cannot be tested by user, but Vibrations & pick up cannot be change by Changing Engine Oil yeah gear shifting smoothness may be, but to avoid vibration one has to understand His/her bike after few thousand kilometer it can be avoided by proper gear shifting after engine becomes hot. Though the only reason for me to use Motul is gear shifting but no proof of its because of engine oil. So I will advice stick to TVS Tru4 Cheap & recommended.

I've followed Running Period till 1000km before using my beast at it max, never went over 65kp/h in first 500 km & next 500 72kp/h. Bike can touch 67kp/h on 5th Gear at 5000rpm, so if you follows running period you can ride till max of 67kp/h.

              Brakes

              Handling:

              Console

              Conclusion:-

Congrats on your bike. Please lock your helmet strap while riding, I see almost 80 to 90% of riders in Bangalore not locking the helmet strap, for me it is as good as not wearing a helmet.

                              1. I brought bike on Tuesday, when i can do Teflon coating to my bike. or it is already done by manufacturer. Teflon Coating is an optional polishing which only requires if you feel there is some minor scratches on Fuel tank or scoop, or some dust which you are not able wipe out & it only last for few days ...Better buy some 3M or Formula 1 Cleaning & polishing kits & do it yourself whenever its possible.

                              2. Is it necessary to put lock for the fuel tank to avoid fuel steal? You answer yourself!! Petcock a.k.a fuel lock is must if you think there might be a chance some one stealing petrol...& it does no harm to you & your bike if you integrate it in your bike except the key you have to carry all the time :P

                              3. How to ride bike in early days - Read User Manual it will explain in details, what I will suggest is too Change engine oil (if possible) after first 100 km & then at every servicing, maintain RPM below 5,000 mark... Apache can go upto 65k/h @5th Cog @ 5000 rpm so ride below that for frist 900-1000km ... & Avoid Sudden Accelaration too ... Don't play with any screw if you are unware about...

Replies in Bold, Follow all safety rules & ride safe, its very torquey engine so dont go in flow with Torque & ride safe always...

I Hope you are having all basic protective gears with you !!!

Forgive me for being a killjoy, but why isn't Bajaj thinking about the ABS thingy in the 220, yes it's heavy, a KG here and there isn't gonna do bring down the performance, but that's just my anguish.

                                Nice review! Loved the vistas.
