I was contemplating doing that since I've been collecting money since April 2011 when my Karizma got stolen and was never found...and I actually even collected more than I needed :-D was gunning for a Ninja at the time :-D but later the KTM seduced me with its Naked Styling...Originally posted by Shubz View PostB t w - who all paid in full so far?
I did - today 9:30 am IST
Anyway the Kmarg manager said that even if I did pay in full it would not help me jump the line in terms of who got the bike first and he also said that if there were any hold ups in delivery that the money would be locked in unless of course i cancelled the booking so I just took his advice...
But...seeing as how the deliveries are falling into place rather quickly that shouldn't be a problem for anyone now.Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Thanks Rajath! But don't be disheartened. From what I know, there are more than 15 bikes in the first lot. 15 bikes is on the 1st day (29th) and rest in subsequent days. so you may not have to wait for more than a couple of days before the 2nd batch starts rolling out!Originally posted by Rajathslr View PostPhewww!!...U seem to b 1st in everything...Keep it up...U mentioned only 15 bikes in 1st slot...??...I will miss it...anyways u deserved it and also all the big shots...i wil wait inline..

1. what is supposed to be done to avoid such thefts?
2. What is supposed to be done once the vehicle is stolen?
3. Does insurance policy covers the theft?Hero Honda Karizma

I went to chennai showroom today as he had called me yesterday and told me arrange for finance. Upon entering the showroom, saw 9 Brand new fresh Dukes standing there. Immediately got goosebumps thinking my bike could be one of them.
Upon the approaching the store persons they told that my bike will be arriving in 2-3 days. They are planning some inauguration ceremony next week or may be this weekend also which they will inform soon. They said they will be handing over the bikes in the first lot on that day. They said they are thinking of calling some celebrity. The store person confirmed that my bike will also be among them.
Now the wait is becoming really impatient. Getting goosebumps already.
BTW : the booking number for duke in chennai is 85 till today.

A:- Well I live in a Bungalow without a compound and so I am forced to park it outside my balcony and also there's no watchman so that's another bummer, but I've recently read that even these watchmen conspire with crooks that steal cars and bikes So I would say its safer if you have your bike inside a building, with Autocop, and preferably chained to something (multiple layers of security so they can't get done quickly)Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View PostJust out of curiosity,
1. what is supposed to be done to avoid such thefts?
A:- DO NOT PANIC and head straight to your local police station and FORCE THEM to make an FIR and also I later found that I had to bribe the cops to get my bike faster according to a friend of mine who's bike was stolen just a week after mine. Almost a year later the police call me to close the investigation to which I refuse point blank.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View Post2. What is supposed to be done once the vehicle is stolen?
A:- I didn't have insurance at the time but I would think it would cover atleast the depreciated value of the bike.Originally posted by ASSASSIN07 View Post3. Does insurance policy covers the theft?Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

KTM Pune delivering all 10 bikes on Tuesday together. You are lucky getting on Friday itself. Eventhough I made payment on Monday itself I am getting mine on Tuesday 28.Originally posted by Debashish View PostGot a call from KTM South Delhi (Vasant Kunj) at 1300 hrs today. They informed me that the bike is here and will be handed over to me at a special ceremony on Friday, at their head office in Karol Bagh. The ceremony will be held for the people who had booked their bike on the first day.
They also asked me to make the balance payment before Thursday, so, the bike can be handed over on Friday.

Hi guys I got a call too just now at aroun 11:30am from KTM Kmarg to say the dispatch will be starting soon and to make a cash or check payment...NO PDCS...So I'm just wondering I'm gonna be going for an interview and might be drafted to Qatar so would i be allowed to cancel the booking if that happens? After making the balance payment? And would i get the booking amount -Rs.3000 + the Balance amountSpeed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

On the cancellation, it's best to clarify witht the dealer itselfOriginally posted by joshzma225 View PostHi guys I got a call too just now at aroun 11:30am from KTM Kmarg to say the dispatch will be starting soon and to make a cash or check payment...NO PDCS...So I'm just wondering I'm gonna be going for an interview and might be drafted to Qatar so would i be allowed to cancel the booking if that happens? Also, did they mention why no PDCs?
EDIT: @Mods, would it be possible to merge the two threads on the Duke? Don't see much sense in maintaining two seperate threads.I like 'em Naked

Well when I asked if I could make it out for March 1st the lady was like MARCH 1st?!?!?! and then she said she'd have to check with Manager, and he explained that if I paid in full without a PDC it would speed up the process of registration etc should the bike come in earlier than expected. I guess thats the reason behind the whole thing.Originally posted by NikhilB View PostOn the cancellation, it's best to clarify witht the dealer itself
