Hey don't worry man looking at the pace at which the deliveries are happening it doesn't seem like it would take that long for you to "swing your leg over your Duke"
Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

if 2000 units per month production is right ... every one should get with in a month

But these production numbers will include the exports also.
          Exports for both 125 & 200!
I dont know whats the proportion of domestic share. Assuming it to be 50-50, then also we should get it in ~ 1 month

          • production output

for me i still wonder how you all are coming to a prodction output of 2.000 bikes a month?

in the interview with zw stefan pierer said that they are expecting to sell 2.000 units per month in india.

and he is also saying that the first 20.000 units will be exported. so with a production capacity of 2.000 units a month that would be 10 month of production?

i guess their production output is much higher then 2.000 pieces a month. we should not mix intended sales figure within india and production capacity of the plant.

i could also be wrong, my opinion is based on this interview:

aaahhh of course, you are right. so 2.000 unit a month and the first 2.000 for export. ok, that makes sense.
                  thanks for the feedback.

Well, I happen to own an expensive bike and I'm one of the paranoid owners. I have two motorcycles. Here's what I do:
                    • I have a Xena XZN8. That's a disc lock and alarm that makes a very loud sound as soon as someone touches the bike and shakes the handlebar even by a little bit. The lock is made of solid steel and the bit goes into one of the disc gaps - so it's nearly impossible to cut through. I lock the front disc of the bike with this. This lock, for me, serves many purposes. It also scares people off when the bike is (very rarely) parked out of my sight and people begin to check it out. No one dares sit on the bike once the alarm sounds.
                    • I have a normal, inexpensive but tough disc lock (300 bucks) - which is again effective since it immobilizes the vehicle. The lock is very tough itself - and to break it would mean cutting through it. Again a tough proposition for most thieves.
                    • I keep the gate to my house locked 24x7
                    • I keep the bikes covered. I put on the covers as soon as the bikes cool down.
                    • I always chain the bikes together at night. Get a solid chain and a big lock. Ensure that when you chain the bikes, the chain is not on the ground - that'll help the thieves hit it with something heavy and break it against the ground.

What I'm wondering is, if you're getting the Duke 200, you'll have to be just as careful because it'll attract attention. You HAVE to park it in an enclosed space. Parking it on the streets would ensure that it gets stolen/damaged.

I suggest you take a test ride as a pillion before coming to any conclusion.
the grab rails on this bike are not behind but beside the seats. most have felt it very uncomfortable.
