i don't know if there will be a premium edition or not,but heard of optional soft compound tyres only.
and the question remains why do i race?

      • hi all....lets all be patient enough to wait for the company to launch the product..they might be holding the launch may be bcoz of some issues that are popping out during the validation trials..i don't think they are delaying 200ns coz 200ns will steal the thunder from duke 200 since they are very different propositions.
ther might be some reliability issues or some customer touch points(vibrations, shift feel, braking, squeaks, rattle ...etc..etc..) not meeting the targets set by the management.
lets wait...let them launch when they are confident enough...
        Cheers

Yes, this is what he said "less than 1lakh for the bike" and when I asked him for the soft compound tires he said "oh you want the premium? then its 1-1.10lakhs"

soft tyres do not add upto that much of cost.

The reason test bikes and display bikes at launch had eurogrips instead of regular MRFs was because, as per This article by Top Gear India, Apparently, the MRFs are still under development and will be available by the time the 200NS reaches showrooms. A set of tires of the P220 costs ~5k. I don't think stock tires on a P200NS would cost double of that.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.

                BAJAJ PULSAR 200NS
                TOPGEAR SAYS
Possibly the best value-formoney all-Indian scorcher PRICE: NA MAX SPEED 136 kph (claimed) PERFORMANCE Engine: 199.5cc, single
                PERFORMANCE
                0-100kph: 3.6 sec (claimed)
Edit - From the same article...
What does take that trend forward though, is the four-valve 199.5cc motor that makes 23.4bhp and 18.3Nm and takes the 200NS from 0-100kph in a claimed 9.83 seconds to a top speed
Sigh!!! I don't know when we'll have a quality auto journalism!!!

Actually I did as soon as I read it in the physical newspaper . But there's nothing much we can do about that.

Exactly!!! And guess what??? This is what people would love to read.

First thing when I read 0-100 in 3.6 was...OMG!!! This one beats a Gixxer 1000 or what ??? Puts a whole lot of shame to R&D for all the leading motorcycles manufacturers around the globe!!!

Well that obviously is a typo while printing.. they punched in 0-60 kmph as 0-100 kmph there

But then 100 Kmph in under 10 secs is quite fast by desi bike standards

                      • One thing i dont understand about pulsar is its inability to shed weight...
Even after shedding a 'silencer' and becoming leaner it is a heafty 145 kilos...(we dont even know if a saree guard, crash guard and mud guard are included in that 145 kilos)
with those guards it would be ~150... and all this with a comparatively small 12 litre fuel tank

if u pay 1.3 lacs for pulsar , they will put an aluminium banana swingarm , lighter alloys , lighter piston and engine components and shed some more weight here and there . but will u pay 1.3L for a p200 ?

                          if u want a lighter bike , buy something like an r15 . (1.2 L for a 150 as compared to 65k 150cc ones.)

A little bit of weight makes a bike feel stable.. By the way 145 Kgs is not that heavy specially when there are bikes that weigh around 159-167 kgs and still pay more than a lakh for them.

Well, i was initially attracted to Duke 200 due to its looks and low weight, but i'm not expecting it to give anything more than 25kmpl which is un affordable for me... thats the reason why i turned to pulsar... i would have loved the pulsar even more if it was 13x, but then i guess it would have costed 1.2 lacs which might affect duke's sales...
Anyways, i'm guessing(or rather hoping) bajaj comes up with a ABS version of pulsar, which is 7-8k costlier than the standard one, that would be great for people wanting an ABS option...
And i also hope they have a Full Black(or fear the black) option, because i personally hated all the dual tone color schemes they showcased

yeah same thought,a 135 kg of kerb weight would have made it further street-scorcher.
