Nice review as always... Btw the black NS looks insanely aggressive and kickass... Guess all Pulsars are designed in Black and then rest colors are applied later ... Guess FI would have made it Tourer's delight in certain ways.

None the less , worthy successor to the P200 , now Bajaj should bring one for the P220

Nice log. I would also like to know whether anything called Pulsar 200SS with a fairing is set to arrive?

Finally... now we need a full blown track test of the 200ns, cbr150r, r15 v2, duke and cbr250... What about a track test of the above bikes... That will clear most of our doubts i guess...

Just blown away by the aura of the new Pulsar 200NS []. One hell of a package.
Kudos to BAL & thanks Mr. MG for such a brilliant write-up.
Its the fusion of a two wheeled machine & a human being which creates a true biker.

                grt reviews

i heard that if we ride the bike below 55 kmph then it will give milage of 58kmpl. but you said if we ride it without ripping then it will give around 35-40 same as p220.

Excellent write up MG, especially the emotional bit!

One request though, make the note bold & red so that everyone takes note of it and gets the seriousness of it!

From the review, looks like Horn & Tires are the only weak points noticed in about 10k kms of riding, that's mighty impressive for any bike. With this kind of performance, Honda should be worried about the prospect of full faired version of the new P200, it might hurt them badly.

"Without Ripping" for these guys would be "Without Red lining" the bike.. i.e crusing at 90-100 kmph in top gear.

I'll make my dad read this review so that he does not get me a Hero or Honda or Yammy Fazer & perhaps he'll get me the NS instead...this will surely convince him...hafta do something with the "note part" though...might just scare him off...xD

Ktm Duke 200 or Pulsar 200NS?
KTM is a very focused machine and it’s the best street bike currently available in the market.
The rush factor of KTM is unmatched but that said the KTM cannot be ridden sanely. It begs to be ridden hard
Then there is the KTM brand and the legally attached with it
If you want something very different and don’t mind paying little bit extra then KTM is the bike for you!
Pulsar on the other hand is an overall good performer and performs well in all domain be it street, track, is a good tourer and comes out well when thrown in offroad conditions.
KTM even in 200cc avatar is a lifestyle product whereas Pulsar is brilliantly packaged product which does almost everything.

I really liked the color and would like Bajaj to officially name it as "Transformer Yellow".
The yellow was not there as a test bike and hence no pictures. Although yellow was part of xBhp First Impression review and you can have a look at the pictures here

the p220 has a true top speed in mid 130s .. so how much do you think would be the true top speed of ns ?
True top speed of NS is 136 as mentioned by the company. With tail wind and downhill one can most probably touch speed of 138-140

I wonder what doubts you have. This is quicker than R15V2 and CBR150 and most probably will be quicker than CBR250 around a track. But then track is a completely different thing and 99% of the total buyer of either of these bikes will never go to any track.

When I say 35-40 I mean riding at a cruising speed of 90-100 for most of the time and occasionally hitting the 130mark. No one will ride this vehicle at speeds below 55kmph.

Didn't want to make it too in your face. It is there for a purpose and hope everyone reads it after reading the review.

Thanks MG for the article. However, I have been going through other sites as well like Teambhp. There are reported incidents of KTM's engine seizing, busted valves, leaking radiator coolant, leaking front Suspension, poor workmanship (read loose bolts ). That does worry me as both P200NS and KTM share the same block and gearbox and are manufactured in the same plant. Also, KTM being priced and positioned higher it keeps me guessing how come Bajaj did not test KTM as extensively as they are testing 200NS.
Until the Engine seizure, workmanship and other issues with KTM is resolved, it does cast a serious doubt on P200NS as well.
Its hard to convince oneself that the issues faced on KTM will not surface on P200NS.
I was thinking to move on to P200NS from my P220, however after reading about issues with KTM I think it is best to wait for a year atleast for Bajaj to iron out issues if there are any.
It would be great if you guys can throw some light on the issues I mentioned.

How about the performance? Any significant difference in real world conditions? I.e on the road?
