With this bike close on the heels of the cbr when it comes to performance, even a semi faired NS is something Honda should be worried about. I see many prospective owners of this bike here, and this review should have answered most of the questions.

Awesome post, very rarely does a test review does that..Awesome pictures to boot @gourabh

First bike from Bajaj which I admired and raised the pro biking bars too high, hope this bike sees competition from Hero motocorp. and Honda as well. Under Sane riding expect 45+ which is Insane considering the performance.
Hope it removes the bad quality tag from Bajaj and give it a new height for long term usage. Long live P200 NS.

-:: Loved It ::-
Thanks MG - Kudos to you and xBHP team for bring us this beautiful review.
Really worth the wait. Loved every bit of it but only that warning that comes with a caution made me think, you really need to be a careful with this lovely beast.
Nobody can drive it @ 55 or less explains a lot for this power beast. Only thing I can say is who wants miles from this bike try hard to achieve this. And one thing which I'm sure is there will be a lot of variation in terms of mileage when people will be talking about this. Here a lot depends on your riding if you want huge numbers from this advanced hybrid of pulsar range.
I have been regular reader of all the Pulsar 200 NS posts right from the first ride, confirmed pricing, ownership thread and now this.... Seems like a whole journey from January onwards and still haven't been able to look at it in flesh and ride it sometimes disappoint a little. None the less, it has it has increased my patience.
Thanks for the pictures, it keeps me breathing...Always Wear Your Helmets and Ride Safe

@Rohan : AS MG sir cleared the doubt, P 200 NS' top speed is around 136-138 KMPH. However, what MG sir said is, it doesn't matter what the top speed is, all that matters is how well you can reach there. Ofcourse being a naked bike and weighing around 5-6 kilos less than P220 should/would/could make it less stable than P220 post 120-125 KMPH as again rightly pointed out in the review.Originally posted by Rohan200ns View Postthank you so much for clearing my doubts ...
the p220 has a true top speed in mid 130s .. so how much do you think would be the true top speed of ns ?
Transformer Yellow - I guess that should be the name Bajaj should use.Originally posted by Debashish View PostA very well written review. Enjoyed reading it all. And the awesome photographs were like icing on the cake.
200NS in yellow. My first thoughts were - That must be bumblebee's 2 wheeled avatar. I really liked the color and would like Bajaj to officially name it as "Transformer Yellow".
I am not a big fan of either red or blue, so it will be either my fav Black or the new Transformer Yellow or Bumble-Yellow.
The pics were a cake for me and the writing is the sweet, non sugary, smooth, cream for me..
@Shravan : ripping for MG sir is red lining, proper abuse to test the limits. Per the long term ownership review put up fantastaliciously by @MG sir, it holds its components very well. The new engine, the new gearbox are a gem! Now, that's what I call a dhansu bike. 7-7.5 K will take you up 110 KMPH and it has no stress to show. That speaks for itself mate. As for the mileage is concerned, realistic should be around 40-42 KMPL when ridden sanely and with a hard, itching hand, it should come down to 30-35 KMPL.Originally posted by shravanchoudhary9 View Posti heard that if we ride the bike below 55 kmph then it will give milage of 58kmpl. but you said if we ride it without ripping then it will give around 35-40 same as p220

I cannot comment on anything else as my experience with KTM is limited to ~700kms only. Coolant leakage most of the times is not the actual leakage, if while filling coolant the air is bleeded out properly then there is a possibility of coolant overflowing once the engine becomes hot.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostThanks MG for the article. However, I have been going through other sites as well like Teambhp. There are reported incidents of KTM's engine seizing, busted valves, leaking radiator coolant, leaking front Suspension, poor workmanship (read loose bolts ). That does worry me as both P200NS and KTM share the same block and gearbox and are manufactured in the same plant. Also, KTM being priced and positioned higher it keeps me guessing how come Bajaj did not test KTM as extensively as they are testing 200NS.
P220 to P200NS is not a serious upgrade. Yes NS is a much better bike and is quicker and I could easily spot the difference if I ride my P220 back to back after P200NS, the P220 easily feels a 5year old productOriginally posted by chinmayakar View PostI was thinking to move on to P200NS from my P220, however after reading about issues with KTM I think it is best to wait for a year atleast for Bajaj to iron out issues if there are any.

Engine seizing and busted valves are a serious issue if reported correctly. I guess until and unless workmanship and the quality of the product are not improved, no matter what Bajaj comes out with, it will still feel the same. All pulsars from the first Pulsar launched till the 220 had vibey engines, noisy gearboxes and bad part quality. Have these issues been sorted out correctly? Riding pleasure was something that all the pulsars lacked.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostThanks MG for the article. However, I have been going through other sites as well like Teambhp. Until the Engine seizure, workmanship and other issues with KTM is resolved, it does cast a serious doubt on P200NS as well.
Its hard to convince oneself that the issues faced on KTM will not surface on P200NS.

It would be great if you guys can throw some light on the issues I mentioned.

I wonder if people have noticed this till now or not but the Black has a brown tinge in it and is clearly visible when kept under sunlight. Here is an example of what I'm talking about
More pictures of Pulsar 200NS will be posted in the coming weekend.Last edited by MG; 06-22-2012, 10:59 AM.

+1 .. One should wait for some more time, check out if there are any issues , wait until they are sorted out and then buy this bike .Originally posted by crankpin View PostEngine seizing and busted valves are a serious issue if reported correctly. Nice write-up MG; however, my question (asked in the other first impressions thread as well) relating to the roll-on acceleration times, is still unanswered.
Also, I guess the test bikes had their front license plate on the bikini fairing. With the revised position (ahead of the headlamp), with the front forks on full compression, under hard braking, does it touch / scrape the front mudguard?Last edited by raja_ghuru; 06-22-2012, 11:03 AM.Live life, a quarter-mile at a time!

Elaborate, what king of riding pleasure you are talking about ??? I have ridden r15, honda unicorn and pulsar 150 and i was not able to spot any special riding pleasure offered by yamaha and honda.Originally posted by crankpin View PostRiding pleasure was something that all the pulsars lacked.I am loving my NS

BAL tends to do something like that to its blacks, P220 carb also has a bluish tinge to the black which comes out under sunlight. The Fi black though was jet black.Originally posted by MG View PostI wonder if people have noticed this till now or not but the Black has a brown tinge in it and is clearly visible when kept under sunlight. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
