I was not comparing r15 with pulsarOriginally posted by doctorque View PostPlease do not compare an R15 to a pulsar150 or a unicorn. Only a novice will do so.
but i was talking about riding pleasure which according to crankpin a pulsar cannot give. Riding pleasure means whether a bike can deliver for which it is designed or not ? These type of hypothetical assumptions "pulsars lack riding pleasure" can mislead others who have never driven any bike.
I am loving my NS

i am not looking for the lap times..i am looking at the quality and confidence and sharpness and stability of the handling package...its no brainer that the power advantage of the ns will leave the r15 eat dust but how exactly is the confidence and poise... Its just like the cbr250 is faster than a r15 but the r15 handles better... I hope you understand what i am trying to sayOriginally posted by doctorque View PostJust going by their natural set ups, an R15 should be able to enter a corner carrying more kmph. However, considering the deficit in power, the NS should get to much higher exit speeds through the mill.
Would be nice to see the lap times in the end amongst all these contenders. But as MG mentioned, how many of us get to do track days anyway.
Newrider, no hard feelings. Please do not compare an R15 to a pulsar150 or a unicorn. Only a novice will do so.
Choose your words wisely friend. 2004 180 dtsi V1 which people said had gear box issues is very much alive (amongst others) in my garage and its one of the most pleasure filled motorcycles i have owned or ridden (that list is long and you may not want to get into that).
Safe riding.

We don't have vbox setup to check the roll on figures.Originally posted by raja_ghuru View PostNice write-up MG; however, my question (asked in the other first impressions thread as well) relating to the roll-on acceleration times, is still unanswered.
Also, I guess the test bikes had their front license plate on the bikini fairing. With the revised position (ahead of the headlamp), with the front forks on full compression, under hard braking, does it touch / scrape the front mudguard?
The front nuber plate are fitted at an angle so they will not scrape the front mudguard even on hard braking. Been there done that.
Yes it has been tested in a similar wayOriginally posted by chris_terror View PostHas the bike's underbelly exhaust test done like the KTM's? coz there is concern over the habitual street flooding in India's metro's!!
I have certain idea but not sure about what is coming so no point writing anything as of now.Originally posted by s_hari View PostT
MG, as part of the testing excercise you might have got few insights into the future plans of Bajaj. Are there any tidbits which you are allowed/interested to share with us?
Thanks a lot man for the appreciation. When you have lived with a bike for so long then no point giving a regular ride review and hence the effort of putting something differentOriginally posted by rahuldevnath View PostThe Men, The Machine, their writings and their pictures.. everything is revolutionary. I'm sure, this sort of testing is first for any Indian company, and a first for Xbhp as well.
The best part of whole 200NS experience, has to be the "power to people" concept. Not 1 or 2 but so many NS were handed over to people outside the company, a real world test of the bike!
.
When you are filling the coolant from the cap end open the other end of the radiator. Let the coolant fill till the time it oozes out from the other end. This ensures that all the air inside the radiator is now out and there are no air pockets inside the radiator.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostPlease explain the above. It seems you are saying that to control the overflow of coolant, we SHOULD NOT bleed out the air. Is that correct? Also how is air bleed-ed out?
I top-up the coolant in my car in normal way(without any bleeding of air or anything. Is that correct as well??
I'm no pro in cornering but I could carry more speeds in NS over R15 both while entering and exiting a corner in Lavasa. I repeat handling is the best thing in this bike and rest everything comes after that.Originally posted by doctorque View PostJust going by their natural set ups, an R15 should be able to enter a corner carrying more kmph. Mileage figure is given in the review. Please go through it one more time.Originally posted by Balu balasubramanyam View Postcan any one tell when will pulsar200ns be available in banglore please post more info about NS n can you please tell the exact milage of the bike
It is a street machines which performs other duties pretty well. Don't expect it to be an out an out offroader. The bike is not made for that.Originally posted by pads View Postafter reading the long term review, I'm all eager to ride this beast..... want to know(& experience) the off-road capability of the bike..... off roading on 220 is fun, & it should be great for 200ns.....
Are you trying to blip the throttle while putting it in gear? If no then get your CO and idling checked. It will be fine after that.Originally posted by consciyashwhenever I start the bike and put gear release clutch... it shuts.. it happens every time whenever the bike is in first or second gear.. not in other gears .. idling is proper.. it never shuts when it is on neutral.. I have to rev up..Last edited by MG; 06-22-2012, 11:24 PM.

I don't quite understand what you are trying to tell, if the engine is shutting of while clutch lever is held, clutch might need adjustments otherwise you are not giving enough throttle OR Idle is set to very low (OR you are a newbie riderOriginally posted by consciyash View PostWhen I start and put first gear and the time I release clutch it shuts !!

@MG sir - as we all know that ns will also come in a faired avatar , does faired version look leaps and bounds ahead of ns or its just like p200+fairing=p220 ?
when is the faired version expected to launch ? how much would be the price difference ?
would there be any changes on its engine specs ?

"CO" stands for "Carbon Monoxide".Originally posted by consciyash View PostThanks bro !! Ok.. I will do that on first servicing..

Carbon Monoxide is a by product of the combustion of petrol and comes out of the exhaust.
Carburetor/Fi tuning is done by taking the reading of the amount of "CO" Gas that comes out of the exhaust gas.

Yes it has been tested in a similar way
Does that mean that like DUKE, NS can also run on the water logged streets
Please confirm.
Thanks for the clarification.Originally posted by MG View PostWhen you are filling the coolant from the cap end open the other end of the radiator. Another question regarding coolant replacement.
Can we top up the coolant of a new brand without draining out the old brand? Or do we have to do it like the engine oil change(draining out the existing one, and topping up with the new brand.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"
