All the talk related to coolant amazes me, how Bajaj has been introducing new gizmos to Indian bikers and making it a house hold name. Things like, Digital meters , Steel Braided brake hoses, Oil Cooler radiator, rear Disc Brakes, Projector headlamps, split seats, Fuel Injection, 55W all DC electrical, the list goes on.

It's not that Bajaj was the first, but Pulsar made it common.

Few years back for an average Indian joe either "liquid cooling" was unheard of, or was out of his budget. I'm sure 5 years down the lane, liquid cooled engines will as common as rear disc brakes. Thanks to Bajaj!

Thankss a lot.. I Will tell that to service man.. hope it solves the problem.

        That says a lot MG.

In simple terms a Bajaj Pulsar gave you more confidence to carry higher speed in a corner compared to a Yamaha R motor bike. That really says a lot.

Now i cannot wait to ride an NS and see for myself, simply because no other motor cycle has ever instilled as much confidence in me as a R15.

But then we are different riders.

          Lower Profile Tyres......???

I will be getting my NS delivered on monday. Yesterday I took a test drive of the bike here in Delhi at Deewan Bajaj before booking and found the bike just a bit tall. I'm 5'7''. I was wondering if replacing the rear tyre with a lower profile one would be of any help....??

Kindly suggest as to what can be the drawbacks with this kind of change, if any, and what are the options available in terms of lower profile tyres if the above mentioned idea is a go....

          Thanx in advance...

when is the faired version expected to launch ? how much would be the price difference ?
would there be any changes on its engine specs ?

STILL its a requet plz give us an indication of what to expect and when...approximately.
I already replied it. See below.

What I meant is that you can carry more speed but you still be more composed on a R15 because of its riding posture because its tailormade for that purpose. On a NS you seat pretty tall as compared to R15

Handling will go for a toss and there are very few options in 16" in the market

I guess I asked the question incorrectly.

What I mean is can I switch from the stock 130/70 to something like the 140/60 tyre of fazer/fzs as it has a lower profile and will help me gain those precious millimetres to make the ground below more in reach of my feet...

I have this thought as on my FZS I have a Pirelli sports demon at the rear which increased the saddle height quite a bit, was just hoping if the opposite can be done to NS to lower the saddle a bit although I dont know if there is a 130/60 tyre available in the market as 140/60 might not fit due to it being broader....

130/60 is definitely not available in the market. You need to do a lot of trial and error for your desired mod, I think a 140/60 can be fiited minus the rear tyre tugger. The other mod that you can go for is the chopping of a mm or two from the rider seat and it is very much possible. Height of NS seat is quite high as compared to say a Duke200

Thanks for the info about the seat... I was also thinking about making it a bit narrow somehow as it is wider than my FZS's seat which makes the legs near thighs create a sort of arc further reducing the reach of the legs.

Will surely explore the possibility of the rear 140/60 tyre once I get the bike on monday....

And finally the last resort can be those big ugly (personal taste) woodland shoes which have huge thick sole from toe to heel

I had earlier planned to go for Duke but at 810mm its even taller than the NS albeit just a bit with NS being 805. BTW I would love to have Duke's 150/60 rear tyre in NS. It will provide bulk to the rear profile of the bike but I guess it won't fit at all

Even if a 200cc faired version is released with the similar spec it will be slower than NS

Seat modification is your best bet

@ MG - thanks but that leaves it with two possibilities .. either the 200ss will come with revised power output or will get a bigger engine ...
it might cost about 10k more than ns and would add up another 10kgs to an already heavy bike ..
what do you think is most probable ?
                        - bigger engine or revised tuning for same engine ?

Just FYI, weight difference between 220F and 220S is 2kg. Given the better aerodynamics of the comparatively heavier 220F, it manages a higher top-speed amongst the 2.

@MG, I don't see how a semi/full faired variant will be worse off than the NS.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

As far as i know ( read several blogs, reliable and unreliable). New bike will have same power output with some changes to the gearing to increase the top speed.New bike will be named as "Supersport" and 7-8k costlier than NS.
My personal thoughts- NS is already a capable bike so bajaj will keep the power as it is and do some cosmetic mods to satisfy fairing love of indian masses.
                            I am loving my NS

Thanks for confirming, MG. I sincerely hope you folks get one (V-Box) soon, what with your magazine being out now for more than a year & your evolution into a complete professional outfit than just being an auto forum. Especially for me, who has seen your role over the years in molding Indian biking, I'd like to rely on the factual data quoted in here & certain other websites than going by what established auto-mag houses have to say.

the weight difference between 220s and 200f is nearly 5kgs ...
the new one is expected to have a full fairing , so it will need many more parts and will add up close to 10kgs ..
the ss might get to higher top speed with gearing tweaks but it will miss out on acceleration ..
