I knew the powerparts were expensive but this is ridiculous... especially considering how reasonably priced the D200 spare parts (regular parts like brake lever, tank cover, normal decals etc.) are.

Bro just use 95 Octane petrol which is available in India as I use the same(Shell Super Unleaded) for my D200. Problem Solved.Originally posted by Anupam46 View PostI think I misunderstood your comment. I believe what you wanted to say is that KTM must have deemed such high compression ratio fit for 91 octane petrol. I really hope that is the case. But I am a bit skeptical
The handguard thing, if true, is GOOOOOOD NEWS!!!!

You're saying it as if everyone has Shell petrol pump just around a corner...Originally posted by Syed Zakir Ahamed View PostBro just use 95 Octane petrol which is available in India as I use the same(Shell Super Unleaded) for my D200. Problem Solved.

Bro, come out of big cities and there's no ANY premium fuel available any more, only normal. Supplies of premium petrol have been stopped everywhere except big cities for some time now due to high price and low demand. Not to mention if you go for a longer trip and hit a highway, sometimes you have to fill up from whatever pump you encounter if you're low on fuel...
D390 does have a very high compression ratio, and 91 octane fuel might really affect its smoothness and performance to a degree. I hope not though.Last edited by splus; 04-26-2013, 11:57 PM.

As I said, for now we can only wait for indian reviews... I really, really hope that 390 performs as good as the austrian test ride version even in indian conditions (read crappy fuel).Originally posted by splus View PostYou're saying it as if everyone has Shell petrol pump just around a corner...

agree that the duke has a high compression ratio but i think the guys over there must have given it a thought since this is being advertised as a tourer also and we all know that out on the highway finding 95 grade fuel can sometimes really become a dream.so lets keep our fingers crossed and find out once the bike is in the open.Originally posted by splus View PostYou're saying it as if everyone has Shell petrol pump just around a corner...

Got a call from my dealer. He says the launch of the bike has been postponed to June according to a meeting with bajaj officials yesterday and deliveries may take even longer....

Sorry to burst your bubble but Shell super unleaded in also 91 Octane. It is just like BP's "speed" and HP's "power". 91 octane fuel with additives. The only >=95 octane fuel in india as of today is speed 97. And that is super rare.Originally posted by splus View PostYou're saying it as if everyone has Shell petrol pump just around a corner...

BAJAJ is slated to Launch the Pulsar 375 in September 2013.
BAJAJ KTM should really launch the DUKE 390 in May.
Hope they price it at max 2.5 OTR Pune.
That would be a very good price IMO.

re: KTM Duke 390 Review & first impression: xBhp Exclusive
hi, did anybody of you noticed in this article that they are talking about duke 390 R ?
Father of the Duke - KTM BLOG
in the section:
Each bike has its role...... The 390 R
never heard anything of an R version for the 390.
is it a typo?

That's strange. The monsoon usually hits us by & around 7th June. Monsoons is surely not the best time to release a bike. June launch seems improbable, unless it's done out of sheer lack of any other choice or for vested interests.Originally posted by khunti View Postalso he said that delivery will be by 1st week of june.hope it helps you.Last edited by whymail; 04-28-2013, 09:58 AM.◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦

Exactly the reason I thought that they'll launch the bike in May. My friends are holding back on their plans to buy this bike as a powerful bike like this may become a bit too much to handle for them in the wet. That's all their folks' perspective!Originally posted by whymail View PostThat's strange. The monsoon usually hits us by & around 7th June. Monsoons is surely not the best time to release a bike.
