Can Duke200 be upgraded to Duke 390 ? byt changing pistons/block kit, etc and with a remapped ecu or D390 ecu ??

Because I was thinking it has most of the component same as D200, so instead of going for 2L+ investment lets shed some 20-50K and upgrade it ?

from the post what I see is that

1. there is no projector lamp (which otherwise should have been there)

2. the riding posture may not be pretty comfy for long rides

3. with such a huge power and feather light kerb weight the power to weight ratio is demonic but I only wonder if it will manage sound grip & stability at upper limits of speed

Probably very difficult because securing components is not easy, but I guess it's not worth the risk and will never be as good as the original 390, plus the cost might add up to same as 390.

Putting up what I think

there is a huge difference between the power churned out from a 200 and a 390 .............. and so on a whole (and straight to the point words) there will be "immense difference" in the dynamics of the two bikes ............ just upgrading the engine and electricals may not show up that good with such a huge power at access ........... so I guess this upgrade may not be a good one

D390 shares the almost same configuration/dimension from D200. So i guess there is possibility of upgrading, though not sure.

There are many modifier lovers who will try this for sure.

Tyres and brakes are also same apart from ABS category.

agree to your point ............ here's a screen shot of specs from their website ........... but what actually is raising a doubt within me is how will the bike actually contain such an increase in power with such a negligible change in physical specs (or it may mean that the Duke 200 is an over-designed bike

)

The engine is not a bored out version but an all new one with forged Pistons instead of cast ones and nicasil coating on the cylinders. Clutch is also different so is the ecu. The front brake is a dual piston caliper vs the single piston caliper as in duke 200. Tyres and abs are also different and new. IMO this modis not feasible....

I really wish they get the Adventure/Dual Purpose/Touring variant based on the 390 at the earliest. Adventure motorcycling has really taken off all over the world. A light weight dual purpose bike will be perfect for the market across continents. Would kill Honda CRF 250 L if ever released in India.

I see all the Impulse owners having fun with their bikes. Have a bad itch to buy an Impulse, dump the 150, plonk in the 223 (karizma) with RC goodies.
