Any news in Bangalore, now that they've opened quite a lot of showrooms??

The KTM guys have put-up a stall inside our office premises(Prestige Tech Park - Outer ring road) with a Duke 200 with all accessories.

Spoke to the main-guy for about 5 mins. He was KTM-trained and sounded knowledgeable specially about the products and about KTM's plans.
He was saying that KTM would be launching all their products(around 22-26 models) in India within 3-5 yrs. Duke 200 was to taste the response from India customers.

Duke 390 is coming by June-July time-frame and would have a waiting period for 60-90 days.
He had no info on the adventure version which I was very eagerly looking for. Price quoted by him is 2.5 -2.6 L Bangalore (on road)

I just forgot his name ,will update once I go down again but at-least I got some first-had info ...

OT : Ninja 300 is Rs4,11,800 Bangalore (on road)

Nope the next release is Duke390 only . He didn't say anything about faired or adventure version.

Okay, just a query, can some of the members who own the duke 200, list the general issues faced on their experiences with the duke?? In that case, the buyers of the 390 will have a heads up on what things to look for in the bike, when they first test ride it. Also list the issues which you think ahve arose as a result of prolonged riding, like when the bike gets a bit older.

I am intending to get this duke. And i would love to know the weak-points of the bike before i buy it.
Of course everyone knows about the good part, after all its the duke.

22-26 models in 3 years --> 2 products in every 3 months
22-26 models in 4 years --> new product every alternative month
22-26 models in 5 years --> new product every quarter.

None of these looks realistic. not sure how knowledgeable this guys is. I remember KTM CEO saying that they have plans to launch one product every 6 months.

If you look at the pipeline, we may expect the following models launching pretty soon:
D390
D200 ABS
D200 Faired
D200 Tourer
D390 Faired
D390 Tourer

Apart from these, introduction of new product means, whole lot of market/ productresearch involved

Guys check out the FB Page of KTM India today. It says that Duke 390 ALMOST UNLEASHED.

Guess the launch is around the corner.

I wouldn't be surprised if they launch it on 25th May at the auto expo. They have marked that in the may calendar on the same page and there is no event or holiday on that day other than the auto expo AFAIK

so its on 25th i will decide whether i can go for D390 or i should go for D200. keeping my fingers crossed.

Bajaj, please surprise the world with D390's pricing (i am being greedy here :-D )

Ya the Duke's pricing and it's tyres price as well. Those Metzeler tyres are super expensive

a 30K premium for engine (60k for 390 - 30k for 200)

20k for ABS
20k for those Metzlers, (25k for metzler - 5k for MRF)

makes its a 70k

takes the price straight to 200000 mark in Pune,

any price more than this looks like a Bajaj Premium

OT : Can anyone tell me if KTM released carbon decals/sticker set for the 200?

I know about the race line stickers but I remember seeing a 200 on Bangalore roads, couple o' times - matte black finish with a few thin red/orange linings. I found it extremely attractive but after asking GOOGLE uncle for a long time, could not get an answer

. And yea it resembled the carbon decal they have for RC8 to a great extent. May be a custom paint job!!! If somebody has a pic or a relevant link for the same, kindly post - a feast for the eyes

Any speculation on the colors for Duke 390!!!!

Booked a couple of days ago at KTM showroom at Kanjur Marg. Booking amount Rs. 20K. Waiting period of around 60 days. Final OTR price in Mumbai is not declared, but that showroom lady said that it would be under 2.5 L.

Is the launch date confirmed on 25 May at Chennai?
If anyone has any update on this, kindly share.

It's been an excruciating & extremely long wait for the DUKE 390.
That too with it being produced right here in Pune!
