Horn is acceptable and you have weaker horns than this in sports category. Lights I alraedy mentioned

2. During rains or dust do the wheels throw up muck on the rider? What if we remove the rear wheel mud guard?
Yes the vehicle likes to get dirty and the rider is also not spared.

3. How easy is the sitting pose for long rides with the way foot peg is positioned?
I didn't faced any issues because of that. No cramp, no pain in the legs or any joint.

4. Only side stand is it an issue?
No

5. How good is the instrument console?
It is very good which provides loads of information though I would have preferred an analog tacho for better readability

6. And lastly, how bad is the heat generated when riding in busy city traffic for say like 30min+?
If the vehicle is moving then you won't feel much, but if you are stuck in the traffic for almost 20min with the engine on then you will slowly start to feel the heat.For Pune weather it is never unbearable but can't comment on the likes where temp goes upwards of 45, even for those places if you are on the move you won't feel much

My only concern with 390 is running in 1st gear in in heavy traffic. would feel much comfortable if at least i could run it in 2nd gear at slow speeds without knocking. For eg, slowing down in 2nd gear for a moderately high speed breaker, crossing it, and continuing, without shifting to 1st.

I have a question - how is the low & mid end compared to the R15 v1? On lower gears (1-4), the R15 v1 is usable above 3.5k-4k rpm and the bike really wakes up above 7k rpm. How does this compare with the KTM390?

Edit - Another question - in terms of feel and outright stopping power, how are the brakes compared to R15?

Can you please share your thoughts on the ergonomics of the bike for a ride of say 120+kms (which would be my office ride on fridays...to release the madness!!).

Its main aim would be to create a bond among the owners and solve issues arising out of day to day use of this mean machine (if any) .... Also we can plan rides and other activities ... No doubt xBhp provides ample of opportunities for us to do so but the above community will be focused only on Mumbaikars owning Duke 390 ... Hope you find this post useful.

Had a talk with the dealer today. He still has no confirmed delivery dates, not even confirmed info on his first lot dispatch. He says the same 2nd week of August (before he was telling me 1st week of August). If he gets the first lot dispatched by second week of August, it will take a week for him to get it in the showroom, and then registration this and that and I guess I am going to get it not before September. This is all despite me booking the bike before launch with half the price as booking amount. I was in such a hurry and excitement that I signed the booking agreement without even reading it and now when I inquired it is quoted 8k deduction for a cancellation, such a crap and I really did not expect this; however, I have no plans on any cancellation currently. The 90 days waiting period is already in the agreement and we cannot deny it and we may even get the bike at the 89th day and got to accept it, but my concern is that even the dealer does not know when he will get the his lot. This is the only issue that is disturbing me. I have waited for 7 months without a bike, paid half the price, bought all riding gears (that too all in orange) and still do not have a clue on when I will get my beloved ride. Starting to get frustrated. Even mailed KTM customer care on this, lets wait with no other option.

I booked the bike in Hyderabad. Showroom guys saying that RTA permission is not yet given for 390 in AP state, that is why deliveries are getting delayed. If any one in the forum know if the same is case in Hyderabad? I am waiting for the bike since its announced and waiting for getting my hands over it.

I am also from hyd, i booked my bike at banajara hills ktm, booking no is 1. Yes this is one of the reasons for delays in deliveries in hyd but the main reason is that they are sending the first lot of bikes to the cities with higher booking nos like Pune, Bangalore and kerela. There hare hardly 50 bookings in hyd. If your booking number is less then 15 u may expect the bike in 3rd week.

And one more internal news which i hav is that the price for the bike after September will be 30k extra. I was at the showroom an hour bak.

I probably am 2nd or 3rd to book in KTM Banjarahills. AFAIK delay in delivery has nothing to do with pending approval from RTA (though it is true that it *is* pending approval). Getting approval for 390 would be a piece of cake for CEO of Varun motors (who owns B.hills ktm by the way). Had Hyderabad gotten it's first lot, we'd have known about it.
