Already mentioned that in the review

"The headlamp will feel adequate for city riding but feels average to ok for any kind of highway riding. This is because the vehicle touches speeds of 100 in almost half the time than any other Indian bike even though its a 55/60W setup and powerful than most of the Indian bikes"

1. How are the lights and horn?

Horn is acceptable and you have weaker horns than this in sports category. Lights I alraedy mentioned

2. During rains or dust do the wheels throw up muck on the rider? What if we remove the rear wheel mud guard?
Yes the vehicle likes to get dirty and the rider is also not spared.

"The bike behaves like a spray can when ridden above 100kmph and not only the bike gets very very dirty but the rider is also not spared(if there is no pillion). After every rain ride I found my jacket, helmet and everything else in a mess"

3. How easy is the sitting pose for long rides with the way foot peg is positioned?
I didn't faced any issues because of that. No cramp, no pain in the legs or any joint.

4. Only side stand is it an issue?
No

5. How good is the instrument console?
It is very good which provides loads of information though I would have preferred an analog tacho for better readability

6. And lastly, how bad is the heat generated when riding in busy city traffic for say like 30min+?
If the vehicle is moving then you won't feel much, but if you are stuck in the traffic for almost 20min with the engine on then you will slowly start to feel the heat. For Pune weather it is never unbearable but can't comment on the likes where temp goes upwards of 45, even for those places if you are on the move you won't feel much

This is very much possible in 2nd gear but if you are continuously crawling in heavy traffic then you need to shift to 1st gear

Very similar although I didn't get a chance to ride a R15 for a very long time.

It will be equal or slightly better but I will rather compare it with the Ninja 250 which is the benchmark in this segment for the speed 390 will do

lathiwala_99-I didn't get that. Did you maen 120+kms city ride for going to office or 120km of highway ride?

Guys, worrying about the delivery won't help anyone, just creates more nervousness in everyone.

And can't blame the dealers because they themselves don't know because KTM/Bajaj aren't telling them. They just try to do their best (which is often far from perfect).
Yes, it's a messy affair, not a well planned launch, and KTM should be more informative about it, whatever the reason is for delays.

There's nothing else to do but to have patience and wait for the delivery. Getting frustrated will just make you feel sh...y about the whole thing, not worth it.
It's a great bike, it's worth the extra wait.

I guess the real reason for the delay is the strike at the Bajaj plant, it's not that they are not making the 390 it's that they are exporting them.
With the USD above 60 Rs and euro above 80 what else can we expect

Definitely, Mohit. Is it a Facebook group or something? We need to plan a ride once the bikes reach us.

I request those from Mumbai and Navi-Mumbai area to please join KTM Duke 390 Mumbai Owners Club (The Dukes of Mumbai) community on facebook ... Its main aim would be to create a bond among the owners and solve issues arising out of day to day use of this mean machine (if any) .... Also we can plan rides and other activities ... No doubt xBhp provides ample of opportunities for us to do so but the above community will be focused only on Mumbaikars owning Duke 390 ... Hope you find this post useful.

He says the same 2nd week of August (before he was telling me 1st week of August). If he gets the first lot dispatched by second week of August, it will take a week for him to get it in the showroom, and then registration this and that and I guess I am going to get it not before September. This is all despite me booking the bike before launch with half the price as booking amount. I was in such a hurry and excitement that I signed the booking agreement without even reading it and now when I inquired it is quoted 8k deduction for a cancellation, such a crap and I really did not expect this; however, I have no plans on any cancellation currently. The 90 days waiting period is already in the agreement and we cannot deny it and we may even get the bike at the 89th day and got to accept it, but my concern is that even the dealer does not know when he will get the his lot. This is the only issue that is disturbing me. I have waited for 7 months without a bike, paid half the price, bought all riding gears (that too all in orange) and still do not have a clue on when I will get my beloved ride. Starting to get frustrated. Even mailed KTM customer care on this, lets wait with no other option.
As per the booking policy cancellation is 4K not 8K. I also booked my bike on day one, and during booking they clearly mentioned 90 Days..so we have to be patient, its not that they said 30 Days and are making us wait for 60 Days..I am trying to learn from the Bullet Owners, they wait for a nearly a year for the bike so 90 Days doesnt look that bad. Am sure our patience will pay off with Wide Grin rides. They are currently meeting their export targets because bikes were launched there earlier than India. Strike is not helping matters either. What is good to see is Pune owners have started receiving their bikes although in small numbers..hope is there..

I booked the bike in Hyderabad. Showroom guys saying that RTA permission is not yet given for 390 in AP state, that is why deliveries are getting delayed. If any one in the forum know if the same is case in Hyderabad? I am waiting for the bike since its announced and waiting for getting my hands over it.

I am also from hyd, i booked my bike at banajara hills ktm, booking no is 1. Yes this is one of the reasons for delays in deliveries in hyd but the main reason is that they are sending the first lot of bikes to the cities with higher booking nos like Pune, Bangalore and kerela. There hare hardly 50 bookings in hyd. If your booking number is less then 15 u may expect the bike in 3rd week.

And one more internal news which i hav is that the price for the bike after September will be 30k extra. I was at the showroom an hour bak.

I probably am 2nd or 3rd to book in KTM Banjarahills. AFAIK delay in delivery has nothing to do with pending approval from RTA (though it is true that it *is* pending approval). Getting approval for 390 would be a piece of cake for CEO of Varun motors (who owns B.hills ktm by the way). Had Hyderabad gotten it's first lot, we'd have known about it.

No, hyd ktm has not yet placed their orders still... they will be doing it today evening. Tats the reason i went today. And rto approval is happening slowly bcoz of govt not related to anything else. AP govt is very slow.

And problem is that without rto approval letter they cant placed the order. They had a meeting with varun motors ceo today at 1pm in kondapur. I guess they will decide on the order and some other issues.
